The Pripyat in her original iteration was a “Typhoon”-class Strike Destroyer, assigned to Sirius Coalition Expeditionary Corps as a security vessel. Not too soon after, it became the mobile HQ for the illusive and now defunct Black Ops Cell “Sipukha”. Shortly after the fall of Rostok Deapot and “Sipukha” becoming compromised, its leader, Major Anatoly Grachov, sabotaged the Pripyat’s life support systems and reactor core, rendering the ship afloat and crewless in Jiangxi’s high orbit.
Though Grachov himself is now on the run, there yet to be any signs of him relaying crucial information about the Expeditionary Corps, his Black Ops Cell or the Coalition as a whole to third parties . Regardless, due to those very security concerns, he still remains a priority target of Security Service and Commissariat. As a parting gift, however, he left behind Pripyat’s databanks intact, which contained all the information and operations that once circulated between Sipukha operatives. To make the whole situation less conspicuous in the public’s eyes, the decision was made to pronounce the Pripyat as a victim of hostile sabotage, with a memorial service set for her deceased crew. The ship itself was stripped for parts during the retrofit program, along with Strike Destroyers "Gudermes" and "Derzki". Databanks and their contents were taken to site ZI-6, under my personal supervision. - N
