Who? What? Where? - Wesker - 03-14-2025

"Gah, I don't speak Rheinlandic, do you know anyone here who does?"

"Can't you just use the neural net to translate?"

"Can YOU translate that display running codes as fast as lighting?"

"Fair enough, maybe we force it open?"

"And risk blowing up or wrecking whatever's inside? No way."

"Well, what've you got in mind?"

"There's gotta be a translator in town, ask around."

"Word's gonna get around, you know."

"One person a day, different locations, different times. Tell them you're planning a vacation."

"You really think it's worth that much effort."

"When we crack this thing open and find a billion credits worth of shit in there - you can thank me."

"If."

"When."

"Well, where are we gonna store this thing in the meantime?"

"Let me think for a while."

"A vacation? I know when you're blowing smoke up my ass, Viktor."

"It sounded better in my head I guess."

"So?"

"I won't tell you about it here, help me translate what I need and I'll make it worth your while."

"Why does this have you all worked up?"

"It'll make sense when you see it, Laura."

"Something dangerous?"

"I'm not so sure, I'm more convinced it's something valuable."

"Some loot that traveled from the Hessian Hive a short distance away?"

"No, the markings on this aren't a hammer and sickle. Something entirely different."

"Fine, I'll take a look, but if this is trouble I'm not covering for your ass."

"Don't worry you won't lose your spot on this frozen wasteland because of me. Let's just hope Fernand hasn't blown this out of proportion."

"You've really stumbled across something valuable alright, but not in the way you'd imagine." Laura said to the pair, back at the strange relic they'd found several days earlier.

"In numbers, Laura." Viktor replied.

"Depends on the buyer, but it's a lifepod. Unlike any I've ever seen. Whatever... whoever it contains must be important, it's repeatedly emphasizing vitals and recording us."

"Recording us? Visual or Audio?"

"Audio only".

"Well, how do we open it?"

"It looks like it needs a transponder to turn on in order for the locking mechanism to be released. Probably a way to ensure help was notified before the pod would open."

"If we turn that transponder on and open it, we'd catch some flak." Fernand said.

"No shit! I'm not in the business of selling important people for profit, unless I see a terrorist insignia somewhere, we'll ask the survivor what's what and go from there."

"You sure?"

"Positive. Let's do it."
