OVERVIEW
The long months, and for some - years, of waiting have finally come to an end. What appeared to be yet another routine refueling stop to maintain opsec was at last the real deal: the loading of the technological wonder which would make it all possible. The command staff of the Somerset were given extensive briefings about the capability of the new devices - for there were indeed TWO new technologies at play. They have gamed multiple scenarios over and over, still not fully believing that this moment would ever come to pass. But two days later, when the captain gave the order to jump into Dublin, they did not take the disabled jump gate. The vessel punched a hole directly in the fabric of space, and went through.
The jump itself did not take much longer than one with a standard configuration. The worst fears of all on-board were NOT realized - after all, even a completely forewarned Molly contingent could not cover billions of kilometers of empty space. The egress into Dublin proceeded as a barely organized chaos, as two small supply ships deployed pre-arranged drops and feverishly began mounting weapons platforms. But for the Somerset, an even more important duty lay just ahead. After a brief delay resulting from a power surge that made everyone below the rank of captain shit their pants, the tactical officer enabled the outgoing connection. And, using the last vestiges of the hole in reality, it engaged. In a burst of power and signals which could be termed "otherwordly", the jump bridge, a stable artificial two-way jump hole, was established.
After the brief excitement of the initial ingress, normal training re-asserted itself. The newly arrived Achilles and Founder Task Groups confirmed combat readiness, and proceeded towards their assigned sectors. By this time, their presense in-system was definitely known, but their main opponents were staying ominously silent. In fact, Arranmore detected the Somerset and the resulting gravitational anomaly mere light-minutes after its ingress. After a series of orders, the Mollys executed a pre-arranged operational war plan. Multiple couriers were sent into Omega-48, pilots kissed their partners goodbye, and technicians escorted by a large group of hard men and women began loading two standard-looking Hegemon-class vessels. The invasion had arrived, and the veterans of Arranmore would not be caught unprepared.
While the Mollys and any erstwhile allies they could enlist prepared for their own strike, the Santander instead shifted to a fully defensive footing. Burrowing deeper into the Hood field, the Corsair battlecruiser recalled all but the lightest of its picket patrols, and attempted to exit the Shillelagh's sensor envelope. The aging destroyer, tasked with a slew of new orders from Arranmore, noted and logged the departure, but did not bother pressing an attack. It seemed that the Corsairs would be content to sit this one out, but only the ghost of Ian Carew could truly say when they would strike. Their job was now making sure the Mollys were still in the game when the Corsairs "grew some stones" and challenged the Bretonian aggressors. But until that moment, their enemy was clearly defined: the illegal invaders of the new Molly home.

Faction Rewards
Kills by tagged ships on the config will be summed, allowing people to request various asset, mechnical, and/or flavor rewards. Faction leaders should pm @ Barrier with the final details. All faction rewards require inrp write-ups from the relevant faction, and accumulation of event points in relation to the magnitude of the reward. For a rough rule of thumb, each player kill is worth 500k, and each NPC kill is worth 10k - but the rp is what really counts.
Factions currently eligible for this reward (must be on the tracker and have an info page by event end): BAF|, BMF|, CDI), RPA|, =ALF= (=NWI= & CIS|), SCRA|, Noth-
Character Rewards
Established characters have access to a "lesser" version of the above faction reward, with only a participation & rp requirement. Players should pm @ Barrier to figure out the final details - think of it as a lighter version of an SRP. You are encouraged to register your character in-advance, but this isn't necessary assuming you're eligible.
Characters currently eligible for this reward (must be named and have existed for at least two months by event end): Abdul Waahid al-Sami; Bessie "Bison" Bishop; Noth-4; Paul McKinley;
RESULTS
Despite the fears of the Somerset’s crew, the jump bridge was deployed successfully, and the beachhead was formally established mere hours later. However, this meant that a far bloodier fate awaited the invasion taskforce, and the mercs brought along for the ride…
In the opening salvo of the strategic engagement, the BAF taskforce quickly gained ground towards its critical objectives. With only minor skirmishes thus far, some of the greener enlisted were already starting to talk smack about the puny Molly resistance that only needed a sharp shove to get sorted. But such overconfidence was short-lived after a brutal surgical strike by the Molly defense force and their well-armed Coalition allies. With the Achilles blocking cruisers lost, and even some prisoners taken, the humorous atmosphere evaporated as if during a hull breach.

The more modern Founder force provided a bloody counter, splashing multiple ships of a blocking force hastily assembled from Arranmore. The resulting pursuit resulted in substantial damage, but the overeager Molly assault craft were held back by their cooler brethren who feared the reserves pouring in through the jump bridge. With a new anchorage being constructed by the BMM, the damaged vessels would soon be back to threaten the “honest prospectors” wildcatting’ out among the asteroids.

As the BAF prepared for a long-term offensive despite its bloody nose, the Mollys revealed the reason for their earlier caution. The sunward pickets of the invasion force detected a fleet of asteroid miners, aimed not for a last run at the Founder booty, but at the beachhead itself. After pulling all available ships into the fray, the commanders on scene realized the worst: the acceleration advantage of the fireships ensured that no evasion was possible. Only overwhelming firepower would save the Somerset and the jump bridge from certain disaster. But as the engagement inevitably moved towards the beachhead, the BAF realized that only a fraction of the vessels were actually reinforced and geared for this mission profile. And they were not targeted at the Somerset… As the hapless miners sacrificed their livelihoods to buy mere thousands of kilometers for the Hope and Fortune, the refitted bombs entered their terminal acceleration.
Turning sharply, the Fortune accelerated past human tolerance towards the command battlecruiser for the Founder offensive, the HMS-Adlington. In the final moments of the all-volunteer bridge crew, the acting captain and first officer of the Fortune armed the charges with a proximity detonator. The result of their actions was spectacular, but they were no longer alive to see it. The separation of the fireships gave the BAF its other key target, the Hope, burning hard for the glacially retreating HMS-Bracknell. Although eager to follow in the footsteps of her successful comrades the Hope’s captain realized the fate would not allow for such a complete victory. A sustained barrage to the starboard engines robbed the Hope of the final moments it needed to close the gap. At the moment when another engine failed, the captain knew that one last chance remained. At a nod from the XO, both Mollys thumbed their access panels and became a rapidly expanding sphere of deadly particles.

With the Adlington out of commission and the Bracknell requiring substantial repairs, the predicted impenetrable Armed Forces blockade has failed to materialize thus far. The Bracknell’s screening cruiser force suffered a similar fate of the Adlington, leaving a hole in the beachhead defenses that has yet to be filled. With the heavier assets relegated to other guard duties and repairs, this hole has thus far been plugged with lighter units, resulting in a bloody series of engagements against endless Molly raids. But after the all-out nature of the fireship assault, the Mollys themselves are scraping the last of the reserves, with the Coalition delegation requesting additional reinforcements in no uncertain terms.

With the exit from the system secured for the time being, Arranmore is at least confident of being able to sustain the war financially. But as the BAF reconstitutes the remains of its broken taskforces, it is only a matter of time until one of the key objectives in Dublin will again witness a pitched battle for its control. In the meantime, the disputed Founder's field continues to be the site of continuous low-intensity clashes, which may be mere weeks away from developing into another battlefield.

RE: [Official Event] Event Chance - Emperor Tekagi - 05-06-2025
Why hello there.
Now that's what we've been looking forward to.
The BAF|HMS-Hellbound (Battleship for your list) is ready to raise hell.
RE: [Official Event] Even Chance - Jayenbee - 05-06-2025
While we don't have any Battleships, I would like to ask to be sure it's within the intended framework: Are RPA| allowed to field a Bustard?
Answered in Discord. Cheers.
RE: [Official Event] Even Chance - Lythrilux - 05-06-2025
Unless I am mistaken, based on the wording of the writeup, does it mean that this time roleplay is not a mandatory requirement for the codename and commodity rewards?

If they do of course I forfeit the slot

Normally I'd allow this with some relevant RP, but in this case we are very unlikely to add any other factions. I would need to see existing RP between the faction and one of the sides which was geared towards preparing for the invasion.
