Earlier this morning, a reckless group of mercenaries opened fire on what remained of the Reincarnation Outpost in the Omicron Delta system. The station, once an important civilian research and logistics outpost, had been officially decommissioned and safely vacated just one week prior to the attack. The remaining structure was scheduled for controlled descent into the nearby star, but instead became the target of what can only be described as a senseless and theatrical act of destruction.

The band of mercenaries lacking any sense, accompanied by local terrorists and criminals, fired on the debris without provocation or communication, as seen on recent NeuralNet footage. Despite having no tactical or strategic reason to engage, they proceeded to reduce the remaining superstructure to slag, seemingly for their own amusement. Their behavior raises serious questions about the motivations and oversight (or lack thereof) surrounding hired guns operating in demilitarized sectors.

We remind the public that Reincarnation was already non-functional and posed no threat to any parties during the controlled decommissioning process. Claims that the facility was "active", "inhabited" or "militarized" at the time of the incident are baseless and irresponsible. We condemn this needless violence and urge the Omicron population to seek reliable source of news and not share any sensationalistic articles or misinformation.
