Survey ONT-1: Sudbury - Jazzi - 06-11-2025 Survey ONT-1: Sudbury Site Dr. T.Thorn Entry 1 It is difficult to argue that there is a more wonderous sight in all of Sirius. Sure...there exists the celestial hues of Tau-37. The mesmerising glow of Omicron Zeta's central star. The roiling clouds of the Walker Nebula. None contest the magnificence of this phenomenon for one simple reason. Mystery. What is it? What is it's purpose? How did it come to be, and why did it come to be here? Why now? These are the non-exhaustive list of questions this survey seeks to answer amongst many, many others. The site, which this study shall refer to as ONT-1, was discovered following a hyperspace pulse that originated from it's location as an energetic field surrounds a now (barely) visible structure. Control for the region surrounding ONT-1, previously idly and serene in it's lack of attention, has become a focal point for those who would both deny and glean this relic site's secrets. Speculation abounds as to the nature of ONT-1. Some claim the field to be the sign of some charging super-weapon. Others claim it to be a rift peeling away the dimensions soon to reveal some revelations hidden behind the veil of reality. Others still claim it is a beacon, speculating some pre-ordained time or trigger has passed on which the Dom'Kavash plan to return. As entertaining as these theories can be to consider, this survey shall strive to pursue the matter with a mind to solid data-gathering and experimental evidence. RE: Survey ONT-1: Sudbury - Jazzi - 08-14-2025 Entry 2 Time and fate are fickle things yet intentions can prove durable and ardent. At long last, I've been able to bring to bear the extensive sensor suite needed to carry out an analysis of the emitted field from site ONT-1. The Aletheia has all the subtlety of a bulldozer, sure, but I shan't regret it's ability to employ and support more faculties for research than the Solace could ever handle. ... and with it, progress. Bringing the Aletheia to bear in proximity of the anomalous site, myself and the crew dedicated ourselves to collecting as much data from the emissions as we could. Several probes were employed and, before their destruction, were able to return an uncorrupted connection for ten or so minutes at a time. Collating the data into a continuous time series has revealed a most perplexing and fascinating question. At irregular intervals, the strength of magnetic forces within the emitted beam fluctuates. As the field intensifies, the polarity of the field inverses. More fascinating still is that this seemingly irregular behaviour periodically repeats. The implications of this are intriguing and concerning in equal measure. Is this is a consequence of an erratic yet repeating influence of the astmospheric collation below? Perhaps the energetic field on the surface exhibits it's own magnetic field that interacts constructively with the anomaly above in a predictable fashion? Maybe it is an intentional, designed feature of whatever has been activated within the ruins below. If an intended creation, what is it's purpose? Could it be a message of some sort? A signal? Perhaps a method employed to regulate the anomalies emissions into the tight-beam that now cascades across the stars? Answers to such questions continue to prove elusive, and so the work continues.
