[Official Event] Primordial Plunder - Barrier - 06-29-2025

Primordial Plunder
Omicrons*
Combat, Mining, & Trading/Smuggling Event

Corsairs, Hogosha | Core | Order | Outcasts

DATE & TIME

Jul 7 - Jul 20
3-5 am, 9-11 am, 3-5 pm, 9-11 pm (all UTC)

OVERVIEW

The developing situation in the Omicrons has already cost an untold amount of human lives, and put the very future in question in the minds of the local residents. But for those whole call House space their home, the problem is simpler: the sudden lack of alien imports. After the first refugee ships started arriving from Zeta, canny smugglers made a run on existing supplies, with some sitting on their stock, and some cashing out immediately. What followed was a predictable shortage of alien relics, as all parties involved busied themselves with the various warlike developments. With Liberty and Kusari gearing up for a potentially prolonged conflict, this scarcity could not have come at a worse time for both Houses.

The lack of confidence in steady supply lines has forced Core shareholders to demand an urgent retooling of company priorities. With the Kappa situation at least partially stabilized, it was time to move their Omicron assets to secure the now-lucrative alien relic market. Incentives were developed for all types of operations: extraction, transportation, and security were all part of one coherent package which would ensure the continued prosperity of Liberty-based shareholders. To compete with the Libertonian pipeline, Kusari has chosen to enlist veteran Hogosha smugglers, who could be relied upon to provide their own convoys. These individuals also had the necessary contacts to ensure that the provided incentives trickled down to the Corsair extraction groups who have continuously operated out of Delta. With access being tight and the sources of the relics limited, a heightening of hostilities was all but unavoidable.

An even greater danger to both Liberty and Kusari-bound elements was not posed by their competitors, but by the re-positioned Order patrols. With Zeta completely lost and Mu secured for the immediate future with the destruction of the Hakodate, more forces could now be spared for alien artifact interdiction. With the nomads breathing down everyone's neck, it was only a matter of time until an unlucky shipment got caught and infected, potentially leading to a whole new Nomad war, and this could not be allowed to occur. Ironically, the same shipments which have attracted the Order's concern also interested the local Outcast operatives, but for a completely different reason. With Malta regaining its reputation as a player in local affairs, influential Dons could again pay top credit for any recovered intact shipments. While some have discussed establishing their own extraction operations, most have agreed that their crews would do what they did best: prey on fools who skimped on security.

DETAILS

Xeno Relics
  • These powered alien artifacts are suddenly in great demand! All factions with a mining bonus get a 33% increase as specialists are deployed to the source of the relics.
  • With exorbitant prices paid by the Liberty and Kusari military-industrial complex, delivering to these houses will earn eligible haulers substantial bonuses to offset the risk of the trip.
  • Malta is happy to pay respectable sums for any "liberated" materials, or those extracted from independent operations.
The trade config will be active every 6 hours, for two one-hour intervals. If you don't make these windows, you won't get the config bonus.

Combat Incentives
  • All factions will earn points for killing ships of other factions.
  • The combat config will be active 24/7 for the duration of the event.
Any faction which wants to be added to either config needs to provide substantial RP that fits in with the overall situation.

Rule Changes:
  • Trade ships carrying Xeno Relics and docking during a hostile player encounter are considered to have been "killed".
  • Core and Outcast IDs have the following temporary line added to them: - Can demand Xeno Relics within the Omicrons.
  • The Hogosha ID ZOI has been temporarily expanded into the Omicrons.

P.S: Officially we're not blaming anyone for adding EV and Order only.

Hi, hello, can we (nomads) breathe down everyone's neck? We actually have a vested interest in Kusari coming out ahead on this given the state of KuWild and KOI, so artifact interdiction is not actually something we want to do, we don't need artifact bonuses or anything, but kills on the involved IDs for the purpose of catching and infecting an unlucky shipment would be nice.

Zeta being completely lost, tactically, while we cannot harass Mu directly because of the minefield, Delta, Minor, and especially the Tokelau cloud become pretty severe ambush points. Also, with a more blanket threat (because nomads are often not about to be talked out of or be bribed out of their target), you can use their presence as a more imposing reason to hire defenders and escorts.

Gallia has declared Corsairs as hostile so I don't see that happening.

What relevance does it have?
Corsairs can dock and sell on UC / Junker or PoBs.
It generates activity in Gallia and adds more flavor to the event.
On the other hand, you can have Outcasts sell in Gallia and Corsairs in Bretonia.
Competition and activity all over Sirius.

The general problem I currently see with Nomad harassment is that the Zeta hole is likely blockaded. And while the blockading force is getting their necks breathed on, I just don't see the Noms immediately following up their invasion with another. Just like any force, they'd want to regroup and resupply first, clean-up any humans in Zeta, start probing for weaknesses, etc. etc. I guess this is a more general discussion about how well Nomad logistics function, and how much they lost during the Endless Flood event beat.

As for The Wild: I crave RP. Provide a compelling inrp set-up, and you can start the harassing. I have already told @Chronicron that the Wild can take on a similar role to the Order/Outcasts, focusing on harassing and kidnapping greedy traders.

Adding XR sell point on Marseille or other Corse Base for Corsairs would be lit
