You'll give me a pass if this burst is encoded to high hell. I've got enough shit to worry about without the goon squad coming down from Ramsey.

I had a chat with one of yours, gonna guess a newbie in your ranks by the callsign of Witch. Good kid, got a head on their shoulders. Was nice to actually talk to someone with matter between their ears who wasn't one of my own guys. Wasn't the first I'd met of your group, but was definitely the longest I'd had words with.

Definitely past the point of doubting that some organized Legion group is out there now, but whether it'll stick around is another matter. Betting the squad on Ramsey aren't too happy about it though, so that's a perk, but I know you've got better things to do than listen to me rehearse grudges so I'll get to the point.
Last Legion I knew were either getting their asses creamed in Vespucci or being swallowed up by the Alliance. So where's this all coming from, then? I'm far from complaining, but I'd be an idiot not to figure out a Legion on the resurgence. Wearing Technocrat colors is a bold move given their rep these days, but from what your pilot said it's more of an obligation. Damn, been there, done that.

Mostly looking for clarity. Guys and I always appreciated the backup the Legion gave us in the old days, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't mind seeing that cringe-inducing burning skull making waves again.

As I said at Pinnacle, I'm pinging this channel again. Might finally get something, might not. Part of the adventure, I guess.

Had plenty of questions before answered, along with plenty of others I kept to myself. Your Legion's not bullshit, I'll give you that. Hard enough to take that at face value, but I suppose I have the context, and more importantly the logs to back it. Yippie for me.
And you're in for the long haul, not just some 'twice as bright, half as long' crap. Rationing that gas. God, been there more times than I'd care to admit.

Point of contention then is 'why'. Dropping the weirdo colors for the local flavor'll earn you brownie points, but I wanna know why. Why Erie, and why now?
The guys and I are stoked, don't get me wrong. Seeing battleships lighting up Liberty warships is as glorious as it was back in the day, but that's all means to an end, laying the groundwork and all. Are all your original cards in play, or is the deck different? Commonwealth's dead, no fixing that, at least not in any meaningful capacity for decades at least, but lighting a flame across Liberty, purifying everything in sight?

That.. that I can work with.

"Kramer."

"I can't say I've had a message from Xenos that didn't contain boring threats and tiresome bravado on my daily bingo list. Even after listening to you while I was on the Arondight. Unusual. But nice for a change. Suppose I'll take the bait."

"I imagine we all have our own reasons for this war. And Erie is one of them. Many of us have people there who matter to them. Family, friends, loved ones. Herded into camps for those Liberty wants to forget. Slowly dying while the top brass of this rotten state doesn't even know their names."

"So, in short, it's about people trapped there. Or... at least about justice for them. As little as this word means in our world."

"Why now? Well... It's no coincidence. You could say the stars are aligned. Growing tensions with the Kusari, the rise of the Militant movement, even the Bundschuh dropping in... It all creates a pretty good mixture that just needs a catalyst. Which, I imagine, we, with at least some capital vessels in the process of active rebuilding, can serve as."

"What next, if we happen to achieve our goal? I don't know. I'd like to survive long enough for starters. However, my hunch is that Liberty is unlikely to accept defeat. We're neck-deep in this war, and I don't think we can hope to see a true end. So we'll fight for this small patch of freedom with everything we've got. While the flames still burn."

"And, to be perfectly honest, to make sure some of your people don't bring in the Maltese plague."

"Speaking of you and yours. I didn't live through the whole Hesperia thing, but I've heard a lot about it. Do we have any reason to believe that this time things will be different? It's hard to work when you're constantly expecting to be stabbed in the back."

I've heard about the camps. Never had any eyes on them, at least among the rest of the flock. Grueling shit, though, from what's escaped that fencing. Liberty always had the crappy rep, what with Texas and the literal prison economy, but those were new lows, which says a lot.

I can't fault you for it, though. Legion back in the day stood up to damn near anything that even thought about touching civilian ships. Was the model I used to shape the Wings into what they were, still is to some degree. Semblance of honor, however much there was to be had back then. Nowadays, it's all about numbers and quotas. Fuckin' LPI and their corpo-centric optics.

In case it wasn't apparent, the Wings have never agreed with half of the shit that came from Ramsey. That eyesore parked next to Ouray? We tried to send it packing, but found the dagger in our own backs instead. Hesperia? Done with before we could even mobilize.
Whatever ideals we once tried to champion are an ever shrinking minority. Only place you can even talk about it freely seems to be Milford, and even then there's other sects with eyes all over it. Solidarity with the Libertonian worker? Pays to feed the orange high instead. Why fight the abuser when you can enable them instead? Gotta keep up appearances, take the occasional shot at any rowdy Junkers, but can't let it effect the bottom line.

I make zero promises about the rest of the movement; Quite frankly, I think whatever fucking moron on Barrow had that Free Republic idea is directly responsible for Ramsey's ideals spreading like wildfire. Give one goon a fancy idea way beyond their skill set, and you greenlight a whole cascade of failure.
Give the ones with brain enough to not shoot first the chance to come clean. Movement's not fully busted; The rest, 'specially the Ramsey ilk? Purify 'em.

As for the Wings, count on 'em where possible, especially in Pennsylvania. Figure the best good we can do is there.
Won't go quite as far as to burn bridges with the Milford gang just yet, but who knows. Maybe they'll come around.
Big engagements have that effect sometimes.

Stay frosty.
