Loopy's Public Interaction Dump - Loophole - 08-03-2025

Introduction

This thread serves as a dumping ground for interactions that I found particularly interesting or funny.
I don't have that many things screenshotted from my short tenure in 2024 or my older times, so most will start in 2025.

Sometimes I forget to screenshot things, so some interesting stories have been lost. I'm also sad about that. Sorry.

Disclaimer

Everyone can post here to share their thoughts (ooRP or inRP), provide feedback, send inRP messages, etc.
Just uh don't use any of what's posted here to power-game or to meta-game and stuff like that.

Also, I don't know all the lore and all the roleplays that people have made ever. I do my best to keep up with the lore and other people's RP, but please don't be upset if weird things are said or done here.

I will never post anything here to make anyone look bad. If you feel like something here is erroneous or misrepresentative of your person, your characters, or your faction, please contact me so we can sort it out.

Stories

A Nomad Cruiser ("Nightmare to Remember") scaring some Zoners away from the field in Omicron Delta (May 26, 834 A.S.)

Context
"Nightmare to Remember" is my Nomad capital ship belonging to the non-Vagrant Mindshare. Not much to say about this one. It's short and sweet and I felt like the other players were good sports about it. What followed was a really prolonged cap battle that I ran away from because I was bad at caps (still am).

BIS Phalanx Red sweet-talking the RPA into letting the BAF HMS Derby cruise away from Dublin (July 28, 834 A.S.)

Context
An intelligence agent who enjoys his job a little too much and has a knack of getting in people's heads. For what he lacks in fighting prowess, he compensates in negotiation... As long as it benefits Bretonia or himself, of course.
"Phalanx Red" is merely a code-name. Not even I know the pilot's name. It's classified, or whatever. Maybe next time.

On that day, the capital ship HMS Derby got itself into a bit of trouble and roused a mob of RPA ships in Dublin that would've quickly overwhelmed it. With no backup, the situation had to be defused quickly to save the lives of the Bretonian servicemen.

I've shared this interaction before with others in private, but I never published it until now. It was short, but I really liked this RP.

BIS is a lot of fun if you want to be cheeky in the face of incredible danger and still come out on top (or fail disastrously and get pewed). Please play BIS.

"Nightmare to Remember" accidentally interfacing with a Vagrant thrall (August 2nd, 835 A.S.)

Context
The Nomad was going to mess with a MFE ship in Omicron Delta for the lulz, but the pilot ended up turning the tables on it by revealing her enthrallment to the Vagrant Mindshare. It got really frazzled and distraught as a result. Since the thrall's ship was too close to Freeport 11, the Nomad didn't engage and kept a distance, eventually retreating.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the Nomad/Vagrant split idea (nor is my nomspeak stellar) yet so I also got a bit frazzled IRL. I apologise if my Nomad sounds out of character. I still think it was neat enough to share.

Moving forward

For the next stories, I'm going to make better screenshots so that they're a bit more visually interesting than glorified log dumps.

I'm particularly interested in continuing to make fun stories with my Nomads, Mollys, Phalanx Red, and my new Maquis character whose personality I'm still figuring out.

I hope I can convey a positive roleplaying experience for everybody involved, as well as sharing more fun stories of course.

RE: Loopy's Public Interaction Dump - Loophole - 08-07-2025

This week, some wacky things happened

Stories

"Off-duty" LPI officers don't even bother stopping an inebriated Rogue commander (August 4th, 835 A.S.)

Context
"I Bite Hard" is my Rogue Destroyer, commandeered by somebody particularly susceptible to getting swept away in stupid plans, supported by a similarly silly crew of a dozen or so. While terrorizing the Libertonian population in a drunken rampage around New York, a group of fighter ships - apparently from Liberty Police - intercept the cruiser and... Well, see for yourself. This one is quite short.

"Nightmare to Remember" spooks a Corsair and a Research vessel (August 7th, 835 A.S.)

Context
Next to the Omicron Psi jump hole, a couple of Zoners were conversing with a Corsair, and were rudely interrupted by a Nomad cruiser who really didn't want them there. They barely escaped with their lives.

RE: Loopy's Public Interaction Dump - Loophole - 09-06-2025

I'm back. Here are a few tidbits before we get to the good stuff.

I have been utterly demolished.

I can't believe I've unironically said "Warmth" and you will never see me do that again.

Unrelated, but this would've fragged me if we were on an earlier version of Discovery:

Moving on.

Stories

Fighting the Phoenix (August 19th, 835 A.S.)

A shark in the clouds prowling.

Context
In Omicron Delta at approximately 17:10 SMT, Nightmare to Remember started to stalk the Phoenix mining vessel "Skapto", waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. As luck would have it, two Q-Ships arrived to its aid. The Nomad was almost toying with them under its cloak, as if playing hide and seek. Perhaps all this caused a stir in the system, maybe the tides of fortune had other plans - regardless of what it could've been, soon afterwards, the Phoenix were in for a world of trouble.

Chat log

Coal Canary (August 30th, 835 A.S.)

Imminent danger.

Context
On August 30th, 835 A.S., an unusual amount of intrepid explorers sought refuge in Planet Gran Canaria, carrying unusual alien items in their cargo holds. Canary Gamma Seven was one of the Zoners assigned to assist the incoming ships. Then, Revenant arrived.

Jerry walks into a bar... (August 31st, 835 A.S.)

Hook.

Line.

Context
Phalanx Red "stumbled upon" the Gaelic Wyvern Inn in Coronado and decided to establish himself. Later, he escorted them to Planet Cambridge, where they felt much more at home - although the BIS pilot was much more comfortable than they were.

Note: Phalanx Red is not Jerry.

Commentary

There was another story where I played as an LSF ship called "Malefaction" and another called "Malcompliance". However, I decided against posting it, because I feel like my roleplay wasn't good, nor is the story particularly interesting to read.

Basically, it involved randomly stumbling upon an Outcast Battlecruiser in California while on patrol. I didn't want to just ping e-chat because I felt like it was lame, so I just pestered the ship all the way to Ontario, trying to pry information out of them. We were both exchanging just edgelordisms over local for like 2 hours. Later in the day, they were pewing people and I killed them. Outstanding stuff.

I intend to introduce my "Mal-" series of LSF ships with a more digestible tale than that.

RE: Loopy's Public Interaction Dump - Loophole - 09-20-2025

I haven't played much Nomad lately, so no Nightmares today. But this did happen when a Nomad "convoy" was very rudely interrupted in the Omegas, which was amazing:

You know that something's wrong when even the Ish'tars complain about the state of the world so nonchalantly.

I was "The.Chaplain" during that engagement. It's a challenging character to play*, so I haven't brought it out much.

Maybe there's something else cooking on the Wild front too... Be on the lookout for a fancy-looking damaged Eagle prowling the Nomad Worlds. x

I do, however, bring more goodies from the Bretonian front.

Stories

"You know how it is", as the reel is cast (September 7th, 835 A.S.)

NOTE: Some unrelated chatter from passersby was cut out of the final edit.
Also I don't know what spaceball is, either. Look, I kinda panicked, I typed it, and I'm not going to shy away from it.

Not the most glamorous place, but...

Context
The Innkeepers took up Phalanx Red's offer and went to meet "Jerry" on board of a busy Thames Outpost.

Chat log

Stopping on a [REDACTED] (September 9th, 835 A.S.)

NOTE: The other player involved in this event requested to stay anonymous.

A curious sight.

Context
Alarms blared across BIS's grid when a [REDACTED] ship armed with alien equipment was spotted brazenly flying across the Kensington Shipping Platform - Cambridge Jump Gate axis. Phalanx Red responded to the incident.

Chat log

LWB TFwXbp9bLlY (September 10th, 835 A.S.)

It was straight out of a movie.

Context
The Border Worlds Exports Shetland-variant vessel "Bad To The Bone" is one of the finest ships in its fleet, equipped with top-of-the-line long range and deep space traversal equipment to fulfill the corporation's most perilous shipments. Travis Xavier is its young commander, responsible for and supported by another 12 crew members. This ship also employs unknown technology to play sick guitar riffs over open space, and there are rumours that its throttle has a skull on it.

One day, however, things don't go quite as planned. Travis has since taken some mental health time off and the ship is currently commandeered by its quartermaster, Oliver Johnson.

Commentary

The story surrounding Phalanx Red is starting to take shape. I'm trying to get some Molly players involved too, for obvious reasons. Viper and Kayla were absolutely stellar in their roleplay, and I'm hoping I can cooperate with them again soon. My only real problem with it is that my character seems a bit too eager to get the show on the road for no super-clear reason in the context of the narrative. We can speculate on assume his motivations, sure, but they sure as hell aren't written. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to expand a little bit on those soon, and hopefully it won't sound too self-indulgent...

I would like to write again to the player of Grau-7 that our interaction was hilarious. The ultimate proof that piracy is not only not dead, it can be fun for both parties too - even if the circumstances were arbitrarily tilted to that end, since, you know... "Bad To The Bone" is very clearly a stupid name for a ship, it's meant to be funny. I didn't tell them, but I would also like to thank the player of the "Sublimum" for their restraint, as they absolutely could've escalated the situation instead of just flying away.

* - well, ok, it doesn't SOUND hard - it's just meant to be an infected lunatic that has "taken over" a Rheinland Gunboat, whose congregation consists of infused human mass and Nomad machinery. Not quite like a Scorpion, but you know, still weird. That's not the hardest part, nonono, the HARD part is making the epic speeches and coming up with memorable batshit arguments like a true proselytiser. ON THE FLY. I can't come up with those at the dnd table, how am I supposed to do that in Discoveriments Of The Freelancers 5.3!? I guess it'll have to come with experience.

admins pls no ban for the funny bowex ship name. it's really really funny and ppl laugh at it.
