Here are the results: Quote:VOTE RESULTS Last night I managed to talk with Navarch Leviathan of the Technocracy and asked if we could get repairs outta Valravn. Bad news is, they're overwhelmed with the amount of work they need to do on their own ships, so that option's right off the table. But the good news is that we got a sponsorship from them: specifically, a five million credit donation and an offer of weaponry to outfit the Voidstag with. This is huge, and means we can basically afford to go to any shipyard that'll take us for the refit and repairs, and prolly even pay for rooms for all the families onboard to live in while Voidstag's being repaired. Riot and I have been doing a bit of scouting around, and running goods to make some credits on the side for the movement. We've got a pretty decent route going out to the Omicrons and back that makes some decent cash and ends up with bringing H-fuel to Inverness, which directly helps supply the ships here and in the movement. If we're gonna make a new home for ourselves, we need to nail down a location to put it. We can't have it too far from Erie, but if we put it too close then we're gonna find that our families are under threat against reprisal from Liberty, so we gotta pick carefully. I can think of a few possible locations that might work. First would be Kansas. System's practically empty, and Liberty doesn't consider it within its lawful jurisdiction, so it's less likely that they'd try and send a force out to destroy it. That being said, it's still right on Pennsylvania's doorstep, and they'd probably catch on quick that we're basing outta there. It's the most vulnerable position that I think we could take, but also easiest to operate out of from the perspective of sending the militia to Pennsylvania, which is important. Second would be Vespucci. Only one jump farther out than Kansas, and also pretty desolate. There're a lot of other modular bases in the system, though, and I dunno how any of them would feel about us moving in. It's also got LSF spy satellites all around it--setting up there could be even worse than Kansas if we're not careful. But if we hide in a field or something like that then we might be able to make it work. I dunno if the traffic would bring too much attention, though--it's something we would have to plan carefully. Third, Omega-55. This place sucks, and we'd have to reinforce the station against micrometeorite impacts. Maintenance costs would be really high, and running supplies here would be a b!tch. Prolly my least favorite of the options, but it's relatively safe from the perspective of enemy reprisal. Finally, there's Inverness. We could prolly get permission from the Technocracy to build a base somewhere in the system, and we'd benefit from their protection if we did that. However, that means we'd need to play by their rules while we live there, which ain't ideal--even if they're fair hosts, 's a little against the spirit of our charter. They're far from tyrants, but they would definitely have power over us, and if they ever stopped being fair hosts, then we'd be in trouble. None of this is ready to go to the general assembly for another vote yet, at least not in my opinion, but once we have intel on potential coordinates to set up a new home, then we can consider pushing it to the assembly for deliberation. Meantime, I've been working on trying to get the Pennsylvania militants rallied together. We've got a lot of work to do. Let's try and get our presence out there more and see about getting in some recon and guerilla strikes on targets of opportunity. $Solatra@NinthWind >> return Neural Net Protocol: Process terminated. $Solatra@NinthWind >> logout |
