Mission: Deeper into the Omega Cluster

Mission Provider: The Order
Type: Investigation
Repetition: This mission can be completed three times. [Once per individual player or group of players] [2 Completions remaining]
Offered Reward: 2'000'000 credits [+ 2x SUPERSONIC guns for completing a bonus objective, per group]
Difficulty: Hard

Description: Troubling reports have come in from the Omega cluster; pilots disappearing without a trace and mysterious unidentified ships appearing in larger numbers than ever before. While there were initially no leads, scouts have managed to identify several previously undiscovered jump holes supposedly going deeper into the Edge World than previously thought possible.

Given the increase in unidentified vessels the Order suspects that the disappearances are somehow related to the Nomads. Your job will be to investigate these new systems and verify any Nomad presence.

Additionally, a few heavily damaged vessels have been spotted trying to flee the scene, their sudden unexplained appearance it too unlikely to be a coincidence. Find out what they know if you can, any additional insight will no doubt be valuable.

It will not be easy, the jump holes seem to fade in and out of existence, only appearing for a certain amount of time before disappearing entirely. The fact that these are not jump holes phasing in and out of a stable state is already highly concerning.

God speed out there agent.

RE: Mission Commission: Deeper into the Omega Clusters - crushy - 09-09-2025

First entry to the system known as Cayman, i was met by a Corsair fleet engaging what seemed to be a Rheinland cruiser at first.. but parts of it were glowing blue.. and not metallic in nature.. After fending off some of the fighters, it was time to make a run for it to the nearest planet, which was a Gas Giant known as Brailla.

After a systems check, verifying nothing is broken on my ship, i cloaked my fighter and proceeded to an signature reading i caught upon entering the system... It wasn't very far as the system is not among the biggest .. It was interesting to look at, but impossible for me to interpret what was causing it.. It is a mission for the Science division among the First Fleet to have a look at..

Didn't want to spent a lot of time around that thing.. Decided to check the second planet in the system. I have heard a rumour that Zoners are operating a prison liner in the area, that can offer me a quick hull repairs for me to continue..which wasn't hard to find as i just followed a Zoner gunboat captain that was heading that way.

While in the bar i did receive a set of coordinates, to a system called Omega-2. The Zoners on the liner did advise me to proceed with caution, as they confirmed more and more Wild patrols in the area surrounding the jumphole..
But i had no time to waste, my mission is taking me further.. i need to find some clues of missing people in these parts of Sirius.. So i set the coordinates and punched it towards Omega-2.

The jumphole looked very similar to the one i used to enter the Cayman system, although it is still freaky and unusual .. Immediately after jumping to Omega-2 i was once again greeted with the Rheinland-alien cruiser.. This time i made a run for it.. i didn't want to take any damage.. knowing i can't get my ship serviced anytime soon. My scanner took me to a different anomaly, what turned out to be a jumphole to Omega-43 system, and just as i got close it it. A wing of fighters jumped through! Luckily it was Order Agents, on their own investigation mission.. they too confirmed the sights of alien rheinland cruisers..

I stopped my ship in space to have a quick rest, get some food in me and get some very much needed sleep. I have set all the sensors and alarms i possibly could, to alert me of anything that might be coming my way.

**6 Hours passed**

After having a look at the two nearby planets, i received another signature, this time i wasn't surprised by its unnatural looks and knew immediately it is a jumphole. Seeing that the initial scans indicated no life on the planets, i decided to move Ahead to Omega-97.

Immediately after the jump completed, i was met by a pilot in distress,
The following comms are from that point on, while i had a chat with the survivor and escorting him back to safety
As the ferry was stored in the Zoner Liner, i have requested the Liner CO to restrict the access to the hangar, until transport of the ferry can be provided back into Order space.

After securing the ferry, i set off - continuing the exploration of the deep omegas. I went back into Omega-97, but this time it was very eerie.. this time nobody was there to greet me, it didn't take long for me to start feeling a little scared. The sensors not working, all the instruments were deaf and all the information i got was what i could see through the cockpit of my Anubis. What i saw was rocks and more rocks.. After flying around for a minute, i noticed higher readings on the instruments as i approached them.. quickly realizing they are radioactive and have begun eating my hull. Quickly backing off, i noticed a clearing in the distance.. As it was the only way forward i went for it. Following some curves in the corridors, it looked man made .. or alien? I stumbled upon weird anomalies, which were shooting off radiation wildly, but there was room for me to squeeze past them.
Not shortly after, i've come to a junction with two choices, left or right.. without a single way to map my way around without instruments, i decided to take right turns only If i come across more of them.

Continuing going right at the first junction i noticed a similar glow in the dark ahead of me.. flying straight to it, i came across a Rift. I didn't want to spend a second more in this system, thinking i could come back later with a research team, a better prepared vessel and more provisions.. decided to jump through the rift.

[Entering Fischer]
Wow.. is that.. a.. BLACK HOLE??.. was the first thing i said.. before noticing a slight pull.. nothing serious but this thing got me engaging my cruise engines and heading to look at all the planets in the system, as the visibility in this new system was excellent. I had to correct my course many times during my flight to offset the gravity of the black hole, which was getting stronger the closer i got. The planets themselves seemed to have no life on them, which was expected, but In the distance i saw a planet, shattered by the black hole.. when i approached it, i realized the planets core was still extremely hot, almost started melting my ship hot.. when i realized there were big chunks of the planet flying around.. They were kind ofg blueish.. with white accents on, a material i haven't seen before.. something to research further on a 2nd expedition to this system.

Lastly i wanted to check a weird structure, the gravity was constantly increasing as it was the closest to the black hole. My instruments started lighting up, which was weird, either they've broken down or the signature is so strong it was stronger than whatever was blocking them.. As i stopped roughly 5 kilometers from the structure i noticed that it wasnt moving.. The blackhole had no effect to it. I flew closer to it, seeing if the massive signature had anything to do with it, shielding it maybe.. And i was right! But the structure also started firing some projectiles.. that didnt look like normal missiles, but more like spiky mines..
That was my cue to leave, as my ship couldnt handle much more beating knowing i still had to go the same way back to Cayman system and dock to the Intrepid Maiden Liner to send out my report back to Mission Control

Mission: Completed

Well done agent, not only did you explore the mysteries of the Deep Omegas, you were able to find and evacuate a survivor, securing highly valuable cargo in the process. The Order is pleased by your performance and has approved the transfer of two SUPERSONICS guns as a bonus for a job well done.

The rewards have been transferred to an Order vessel of your choice for safe keeping.

DEEP OMEGAS PRELIMINARY ACTION REPORT

Previously stationed in Thuringia, I received a priority transmission to rendevousz with 34th's Rogue, Xander, and Nephthys for new assignment. We regrouped and rearmed at Tennstedt Base, and then made course for co-ordinates in Omega-47. Rogue briefed us on the way, stating that the Order had received information about new systems with intermittent access in the far reaches of the Walker Nebula. An access point to these systems was to be found at our destination. Our orders were to perform reconnaissance in force and report our findings. Unfortunately, my own guncam was nonoperational due to the hazards of Thuriniga. Footage of the Deep Omegas should follow with Commander Amhrad's report.

Our wing proceeded to the coordinates in O-47 where we encountered the first of the anomalies that would come to be a staple of the Deep Omegas. All such anomalies lead into these new systems, and seemed to have intermittent phase-alignment. Generally speaking, all of the systems were desolate except for other newcomers' and their outposts. Our wing encountered a Corsair depot, a Coalition "Tempest"-class carrier, Zoners with their liner in the first system, Unaffiliated pilots, and- most concerning- confirmed infectees wielding hybrid technology and fielding "Donau"-class cruisers.

The most noteworthy encounter was our encounter with a freelance explorer piloting a civilian ferry. Order Primary fleet agent Matthew McKinley got to him first, and was escorting the ship out of the Deep Omegas when we arrived on scene The ferry had somehow gotten an anomalous structure stuck inside its cargo hold, something that warranted the pilot's pursuit by infected elements. Our wing and Agent McKinley made short work of the infectees and successfully escaped to the Zoner liner Intrepid Maiden. Here we are hoping to debrief the ferry pilot and either extract the object in his hold or take his ship into custody if that proves impossible with our current facilities.
