Commandant Gabriel Alarie,

We have had units keeping an eye on things in Tau-44 for some time now, and the rest of the Taus in general. As such, we can already provide an assessment of the enemy disposition in the area, and a recommendation of force deployment for the rest of the Taus.

Tau-44 has been heavily reinforced by the Crayterians, who have deployed heavy assets to the system that Gallia cannot currently afford to move our own forces against. Their main base of operations, the Sulawesi Citadel, is extremely well defended, with several squadrons of fighters and bombers based there. At this time, National Intelligence believes that any serious commitment of forces to the system would leave us critically weakened in other areas.

We have also been scouting out Tau-23 and Tau-31 and believe that, due to the Bretonians needing to focus their attention on their internal problems, we have an opportunity to destroy or force the retreat of the small force they currently have deployed at the jump gate connecting the two systems. With the De Grasse redeployed to Languedoc, we should be able to send forces against the Bretonians without weakening our position there. A swift strike from the Gallic Navy should be able to force their withdrawl with minimal casualties, and would allow us to retake our jump gate, which has been a stated goal of the Marechal for some time now.

National Intelligence itself will need to maintain our position in Orkney, but at this time we do not believe that any of the other groups there will be of any immediate threat, and as such can send limited forces to assist in operations against the Bretonians.

We hope this information satisfies your curiosity, and look forward to resolving any further inquiries you may have.

Regards,
Duke
Director of External Operations
