Its Been a Long Time... - wesm5501 - 09-12-2025 Hey, So I remember playing this as a teenager back in early 2000's. Loved it and played it for quite awhile and have always looked for something to scratch that itch. Tried Elite Dangerous for awhile and even paid for a supporter pack for Star Citizen. But then I find Discovery. So I'm excited to be here. I have a lot of questions....mostly about these ID's and I'm reading people having multiple ships but I didn't think that was possible or do people just have multiple accounts? Anyways happy to be here. RE: Its Been a Long Time... - Firewolfy - 09-12-2025 the IDs are basically your tractor beam which doubles as a rep management system which automatically sets your reputations with most factions so that bribes/adjustments usually arent needed. each char can only carry one at a time and you must follow the RP of whatever ID you are using. it also functions as part of the tech use system which governs what type of ships you will be able to use and weapons/equipment along with it. so the short explanation is that you normally can only use the technology that you would see your faction's NPCs using. in addition, this means that although you can use a rhineland fighter as Kusari naval forces, it will run at very low power making combat almost impossible. IDs are held under server rules and although there is some flexibility in them, certain restrictions on them cannot be bypassed. As with accounts, there is a system in place through the launcher that lets u create as many accounts and, in turn, characters as you like. there is no limit on creating accounts though you can have a max of 7 chars on one account. the only rule there is that you may only have 1 account logged in at a time. So that's why you can have multiple accounts I take it? so you can technically have more then one ship? Cause there's no ship hanger right? RE: Its Been a Long Time... - Firewolfy - 09-12-2025 yes that is why most have many accounts and you can have 1 ship per character. Now one more question and I'll leave ya alone. But can you transfer money from one to another account? if I'm space trucking on one and need money on another type of deal? RE: Its Been a Long Time... - JorgeRyan - 09-12-2025 Yes there are commands to transfer credits. Lots of useful commands in here. RE: Its Been a Long Time... - Antonio - 09-12-2025 Welcome aboard!
