Plating availability - JadeTornado - 10-15-2025 It seems strange to me that there is no option to purchase plating (armor) from Connecticut, since this is not a unique faction item, like, for example, the Cerberus turrets of Rheinland. Availability only at a shipyard artificially increases the creation time of a new character and causes irritation rather than a feeling of immersion. I'm interested to know what you think. RE: Plating availability - Dark Chocolate - 10-15-2025 Fully agreed. Makes no sense for non-unique essential items such as armor upgrades to be confined to selected bases for the sake of "immersion" when every other essential stuff is available in conn. It's not Immersion. It's annoyance. Please fix RE: Plating availability - JadeTornado - 10-23-2025 bump RE: Plating availability - _WOLF_ - 10-23-2025 Remove armor upgrades from the game entirely. RE: Plating availability - Nika - 10-23-2025 Most of the generic equipment universally available is also sold in Connecticut, so I see no reason why plating shouldn't be. Maybe restrict the strongest one(s) to House shipyards but some of those may as well be available there. RE: Plating availability - Eternal.Journey - 10-23-2025 Honestly, game had more soul when you had to go through various places to setup a ship. I like that about armors, that it is set to be certain places that have them, and that you have to put the effort into getting it. Or just buy the armor on an alternate ship and transfer it in conn anyway. Thing is.... the game was lacking soul. You could literally go to a single base, setup a ship, get everything you needed ready for a raidlog in like. two minutes, tops. That's just defeating the purpose of playing the game tbh. Loses the "I need to do more than just /restart (restart) and /drc (bankname) (code) (amount)" Conn is supposed to sell the basics, to ensure you have at least a functioning ship. Armors are not a requirement for the functionality of any ship. Therefore it don't belong in Conn. Keep the armor the way they are, so there's at least minimal effort for everyone. I say minimal like you can't already restart on a place that has all 5 armors, but the effort is there at least for those who would like to put a bit more than /conn into their ships. RE: Plating availability - Krmloo - 10-23-2025 Flying to some random station with a Recruit ID is not gameplay. You should be able to completely outfit a ship on the same station you've bought it. People who say armors are not mandatory are deluding themselves, as if a 1/3rd EHP loss is not significant. RE: Plating availability - JadeTornado - 10-23-2025 I'm not seeing any snub or GB in conn without the heaviest armor, or at least some armor. It should be rebalanced first to become not a requirement for the functionality of any ship. You should be able to completely outfit a ship on the same station you've bought it. I've hardly ever used the Recruit ID except for very edge cases of setting up a complex and specific ship for specific kindsa events - Almost all of them RP events. The one thing I found good there was taken from that ID's usability too, but that's because others were naturally abusing it instead of being good boys and girls. Shit Happens, we lose nice things that way. Besides. It's not delusional. It's fact. I even use the Lightweight armor on a good portion of my ships, because EHP don't mean anything if you're a fat fuck sat in a doughnut factory chowing down on every projectile thrown at you. Point is, armor is 'Personal Preference', and 'Playstyle Dependent'. If you wanna charge in like Darius and facetank the entirety of your enemy fleet while survivng, grab yourself a stronghold by all means. Y'all did just fine without them before though. Armor doesn't mean you automatically lose a fight. Armor simply changes the playing field up a bit. It's not so outrageous you can't beat them without it while they have it.
