I am Emily Furukawa, Chief Executive Officer of Ionic Incorporated. We have done business with the Guild previously, namely purchases of silver and cobalt from your Omegas operations. It's also the Omega region I'm writing to you about today, but for an entirely different reason. There have been hyperspace fluctuations in the region leading to stabilization and destabilization of wormhole connections to previously unmapped space, that much is relatively widely known at least in the scientific community. But details from reliable sources on these uncharted spaces are hard to come by. We have been working for around a year now on an exploration and research task force centered around a revolutionary prototype vessel, and I intend for the southern Omegas to be one of our first targets of operation to test the craft's capabilities, and to gather information on these interesting stellographic developments. Essentially, I need local know-how. Your people know the region, and you are realistically the only contact we have in the area. I'd like to inquire if you would be willing to provide mapping data, coordinates, risk assessments, encounter logs, this type of information - or, if you're interested in more active cooperation, personnel for this scientific endeavor. Good to hear from you. I wasn't expecting full intel, which I don't believe anyone is likely to have at this time. But you have infrastructure and experience in the region, which should give us a solid basis to work from. In that case, I'd like to suggest a joint expedition. You'll provide the base of operations and whatever womanpower you have available for a task like this - given the nature of your organization, volunteers I'd assume - we will join you with our expeditionary force, and both of us can enjoy the potential fruits we may pluck. I'm willing to write you an effectively blank cheque for the endeavor; the board, our generous benefactors the Empire of Kusari, and myself personally as CEO are highly interested in the possible yields, and you can picture our financial commitment to its success as an open ledger. It will yet require some preparation, but if you can accommodate us, we can prepare to move. In terms of deployment timetables, these are somewhat flexible because of the technical capabilities of the craft. As I'm sure you're aware, our parent company has pioneered hyperspace tunneling equipment, and the Infinity is not only equipped with this technology, but it is in fact a central component of its initiation testing. We intend to use this capability to bypass Bretonian jurisdiction to avoid any diplomatic hassles, moving directly from the Taus to the Omegas. That is to say, we can move in and out of this deployment more or less at will, given points of service at least. The Infinity is nominally classed as a cruiser. It's derived from a naval prototype design specification that Kishiro was involved in the production of, which I cannot give much details about for obvious reasons. That said, the Infinity itself is a very heavily adapted derivation we designed ourselves to suit our purposes. There's no standardized typesheet I can provide as it is very much one of a kind, but if you have a berth that can accommodate something shaped roughly like a Takeda-class destroyer, we will manage from there. The vessel is designed to work under adverse circumstances, after all. On another note, my commandant Riko Ose has made contact with a 'Starlight Research Consortium'. Neighbors and friends of yours, as she tells me, and another organization that may be interested in expeditions like this. I have given her the go-ahead to contact them in this matter, if they're interested. Regards, Emily Furukawa Chief Executive Officer Ionic Incorporated |
