![]() User ID: Blake, Esme Recipient: Xenos Alliance, Lovelace Circle Subject: Toronto . All Concerned Parties, The first step towards Ontario’s future has been made, bloodily and costly made I’d agree, but made nonetheless. Liberty’s out and the Jump Gate’s been broken - my condolences to the Makerspace, but with that Liberty’s declared it doesn’t want any part in the future of Ontario. Now there’s the next step to be taken. Right now, there’s an opportunity for Ontario to get on its feet and move forward, to build up and leverage what Liberty’s been forced out and abandoned. Toronto Station. For years, Junkers and opportunists have taken to scavenging it for pieces, cutting off chunks a piece here, a piece there. For years, desperation has forced such short-sighted measures, such little measures. Huron still lies there, with all its iron, all its platinum, idling by. I think we can all agree, this is unacceptable. It’s unacceptable to the future of the system and to the past of that installation, to the blood spilled by Liberty’s yoke that first gave rise to Fort Ramsey. Between your two organizations lies two thirds of Ontario’s inhabitants, essentially the entirety of war-making capability in Ontario. So. Are you interested in taking that next step? Toronto station lies under the exclusive jurisdiction of the LFR and has been classified critical infrastructure by Free Council decree. As such, militia forces are charged with the forceful eviction of Junker scavengers both on the station and the surface of Huron. In light of this the question of interest is redundant. Spell out your plan and leave nothing to interpretation. It'll be considered. "Fear the White Star." ☠ Transmission signal lost. ![]() User ID: Blake, Esme Recipient: Xenos Alliance, Lovelace Circle Subject: Toronto . Adjutant J. Royce, What I propose is simple enough, Adjutant. Once Junker scavengers have been evicted from the immediate area, Bristol can leverage its more legitimate connections to make the installation partially habitable, as well as install salvage operations to clear out the immediate vicinity for recycling into Toronto Station itself. In addition, I’m willing to direct the installation of heavy plant machinery for Toronto Station, allowing its operation in mining Huron. We can do this far, far quicker than the Free Republic, Adjutant Royce, and the sooner that critical infrastructure becomes operational the sooner that other concerns within Ontario can be resolved. What I want from this is also very simple. Bristol C&M would, in having provided all operational necessities for the refit of Toronto Station, be therefore the controlling party for that station. Publicly speaking, Bristol’s operation for Toronto Station would be “Legitimate Salvage” only, if stated at all. The station would have strict guidelines towards the treatment for all employees onboard - with which preference would be made towards Fort Ramsey personnel who hail from those first displaced - and the materials gained from Toronto Station would be guaranteed to be used for the benefit of Ontario first. Should the Free Republic find themselves in need of greater guarantees, by all means make them known. I have relayed this offer to Adjutant Bancroft who will represent the Alliance before the Free Council. He has called for an emergency meeting to present these terms and seek opinion, and of course approval. I will update you with the outcome once a verdict is reached. ![]() User ID: Blake, Esme Recipient: Xenos Alliance, Lovelace Circle Subject: Toronto . KEYGEN, You’ve got a point. Bristol could limit its range of salvage to the Jump Gate area, to keep such efforts off of your front door. That area isn’t well-trafficked since it was removed, and the Robert S. Peary so recently removed from DSE service could be put to work for Toronto Station. The Hamilton Wreck could also see some use in this effort, though the station is not substantial and the material would likely need heavy amounts of work to ensure some degree of quality control. If that’s not acceptable, of course we could simply move materials off from Baltimore Shipyard and through Colorado. Initial surveys on the extent of damage, which I do expect to be not insubstantial, will need to be done. However, considering the station has roughly maintained its orientation and exterior structure, as well as not fallen into Huron’s gravity, indicates to me that the overall skeleton of the station is intact or, at worst, requires reinforcement before moving forward. This, considering the scale of the installation, is workable. ![]() User ID: Blake, Esme Recipient: Xenos Alliance, Lovelace Circle Subject: Toronto . Adjutant "Midian", You’re right. Fort Ramsey’s have fought hard for what they’ve gotten so far, and will doubtless fight hard again. Blood was already spilled in that station’s creation, at Toronto Station, and Ontario will bleed again. The Junkers will not deal with you, not when all they want from that station is to cut it up piece by piece for their own short-sighted desires of making matchstick houses. They’ll need to be cut out, whether you deal with Bristol or not. That, I think, is plainly clear. The question comes, then, what will happen to Toronto Station after the tick has been excised. You’re right about the other part, too. I’ve offered you something - the leverage of Bristol, a company that can still dock its ships at the manufacturing hubs of Liberty and beyond, a company that can ship more material than Fort Ramsey ever could by simple virtue that we still can move cargo from legitimate ports. I’ve offered you the chance to bring Ontario back at something better than a snail’s pace; the progress your engineers make on the Liberty Rose is proof enough at that. I’ve offered you that, and solid cash flow into your people’s pockets for now until Huron runs dry, and the cooperation that’s marked our arrangement since it all began. But sure, Fort Ramsey might not think that’s worth all that much. Sure, you might think you deserve something more. If you have a suggestion for what you feel the Liberty Free Republic deserves in this, state it, Adjutant. I will not do you the disservice - or make the presumption - that I know what the Free Republic thinks is best for the advancement of Ontario. ![]() User ID: Blake, Esme Recipient: Xenos Alliance, Lovelace Circle Subject: Toronto . Adjutant "Midian", When Cobra asked for Bristol’s help in refitting the Liberty Rose and your scavenged cruisers, last year, do you think it was a meaningless gesture? When the FRS Roanoke asked for help in refitting out her armaments to Bristol, do you think that was without reason? I am not one to allow the feelings of the small be in the way of what is correct and what is just. I am also not one to so easily forget my place and the insults given to it. Cooperation cannot and should not begin on insults and stupidity - it does not bode well for the future of that cooperation. You may be only an Adjutant, but your appointment to this position shows that others stand by your statements and your position. Considering this, I will not be placing my personnel in Ontario for the purpose of helping resurrect Ontario’s industry and economy. Should the Free Republic find sense, and a more professional tongue, I’m sure it will use it.
