Named in honor of a Royal Navy Admiral of old, this aging Dunkirk-class battleship acted as a training ship for much of its service in the Armed Forces until 825 AS. During the first stages of the liberation of Edinburgh, its squadrons saw action against the RNS Rocroi and RNS Dax, but suffered high casualties due to the fanatical nature of rear-guard actions of the Enclave elements left in system.
Refitted with new squadrons and additional hangar bays throughout the better part of 826 and 827, it remains, to this day, one of the most formidable hybrid battleships in the arsenal of the Armed Forces. The nature of these refits, however, meant that sacrifices had to be made when it came to its defence systems and armor plating, and as such the Collingwood requires a considerably larger escorting force of cruisers for frontline duty.
With a resurgent Gallia on the horizon, and with Kusari and Liberty on a course for war, the Collingwood took up post in Tau-31 as the linchpin of the Bretonian and Crayter efforts to fortify the region. In addition to this, it also maintains a watchful eye on nearby IMG operations on Holman and beyond.
