Capital Protests Following Conscription Announcement
LIPARI - The districts were abuzz earlier today as Liparisi citizens and residents protested against the Defense Department's announcement of selective conscription programs going into the month of March. The announcement was made alongside confirmation from the Congregation of the statute ordered by Defense Secretary Cortez on the official Lipari PSA channel, calling for a minor draft of 4,500 Lipari citizens for service in the Armed Forces. This comes as a response to leaks of dangerous technological advances made by Kusari made their way to the Neural Net following a hack of the CNS's recent articles.

Public outcry at the announcement of conscription has been substantial, with many citizens outraged. The last invocation of conscription for the Armed Forces predates the Republic's founding, when Lipari was a Maltese state in exile. Since then, the Armed Forces have largely operated as a volunteer force, with service members largely drawn from rotationary service pools, akin to a national guard. Lipari City has seen considerable outcry to the announcement, with dozens of businesses seeing calls to strike by employees upset by the DoD's notice.

When asked about a possible response to the public's outrage, State Secretary Cleese said that 'all efforts will be taken to ensure that the people are protected and taken care of. The Cabinet is already in talks about how to proceed, but if it means hitting the national surplus, then we're prepared to make that sacrifice.'

Not a Lipari myself, but this reminds me of whats going on in Colorado. Like its getting a little strict you know? Like not the protests, but over there it feels controlling, over here the people are upset. I hope that my friends in Borneo and family in Liberty are doing well
