[Weekly Event] Derelict Hunts - Leo - 03-06-2026

Hey all.

This started as a Junker idea but it kind of morphed into something else entirely. The premise is that once a week on this post, James (a hapless Junker unaware that his encryption protocols are improperly configured) will send a communication to his buddy Nugget about a derelict ship he's found. Clues will be in the post as to what is onboard or what kind of ship it is. Because the encryption protocols aren't configured right, he's actually broadcasting it to everyone. Ships will range across the entire spectrum.

Will you blow up the ship to obtain the materials within? Will you tow the ship back to it's rightful owners for a reward? Maybe you'll tow it somewhere to claim it as your own (and maybe do some roleplay to claim it fully). Do you risk hacking it or boarding the ship to fly it yourself? The choice is yours.

Events will happen at 1500 UTC every Saturday. Major TTRPG/D&D style Derelict events will occur on the last Saturday of every month at 1500 UTC as well. Suggestions or offers of help for these mini-events are welcome.

This week, Platypup towed the derelict Dromedary, Mensajero.Rojo, back to Cali Base with Nuclear Devices onboard as well as a Furnace Performance Thruster. Cali Base rewarded him with 1,000,000 credits for bringing the ship back to their base for another attempt at something nefarious. What ship will it be next week? What will it have in it's hold? Keep an eye out to find out!

With the Kageboshi being left to drift in the Dark Matter fields of Galileo following the combat operations the previous day, the IKN-Haruna arrived to take possession of the ship following the unencrypted message from the Junker named James. However, a Rogue showed up to claim it's prize and attacked the KNF Battlecruiser. The KNF was successful in taking out the Rogue ship but additional enemies showed up with DSE and Liberty Navy and the Haruna was forced to scuttle the ship rather than let it fall into enemy hands.
  • The Kageboshi was a KOI Gunboat left to drift into the black following an engagement between Kusari and Liberty forces.
  • The [KNF]IKN-Haruna scuttled the ship rather than allow it to fall into enemy hands.

All participants were given $250.000 credits as a reward for participating in the mini event. Watch this space for additional mini-events like this one!

After a harrowing flight through Kansas and into Pennsylvania, the Bristol fleet succeeded in delivering the damaged EDF-Reckoning to it's new home at Pinnacle. Damaged from repeated attempts by the Rogues to claim her as salvage and a few unknown ships monitoring the progress of the fleets recovery efforts, the ship now sits at mooring in Pennsylvania--ready to return to battle for a free Erie.
  • All parties given credits for participating (if I missed someone, let me know).
  • Ship was gifted to the Militants from Bristol (expect some roleplay in the future from the relevant parties).

Thanks for participating and thanks to @Jazzi for putting some Storyteller input in! Stay tuned for tomorrow, when I'll be doing a bonus event. Expect these events in the future on Saturdays at 3pm UTC. Have a recommendation of where to go next? Post them here!

The Chaos Theory was a transport fielded by local Zoner scientists to research the oddities of Planet Tonnerre. However, they critically misjudged the ferocity of the planets storms. During a study of a storm, the ship was struck in orbit by a discharge. This fried all systems, including the ships distress signal and life support. The gravity of the planet drew it into the atmosphere slowly...along with it's experimental power core that few Zoners are allowed to even utilize let alone know about.

The BIS-CV-Traquair arrived to find the ship falling in orbit, and after attempting many different recoveries, were able to dislodge the core from the cargo bay and retrieve the core. However, in doing so caused the ship to free fall into the atmosphere and explode, causing the grave of Zoner scientists to burn up.
  • The BIS-CV-Traquair is now the proud owner of one Ingenuus Power Core--a rare commodity as I personally only know of 11 or 12 still on the server at this time.
  • Due to the value of the item recovered, and only one player who participated, no credits will be awarded as the item is it's own prize.

Tune in next week for some Wild shenanigans.

The Filo Escarlata was left to drift after it was nearly destroyed by unknown assailants--however it found a new home with those who had evil plans for it's future. No longer was it a stalwart defender of the Maltese nation, now it was an instrument of something far more sinister. The Wilde ships managed to crack the ships firmware (with hilariously bad security policies by it's pilot) and initiate a bypass on it's reactor to prevent a meltdown. Afterwards they enabled the auto pilot to follow the two ships to their home in the Omegas.
  • The ship is now in the possession of Wilde. No other players or factions attempted to stop them from claiming their prize.
  • 250.000 credits were given to each participant for their roleplay interactions.

Tune in next week for a new special version of the event. Angels offspring with strange deaths in a field of darkness filled with strange bridges await your discovery. Tune in next week for your slice at the pie.
