[BUG] Ships manage to keep docking after a POB has been attacked - Pandesal.Shipping - 03-11-2026

Type: Ship Stats / Infocard / Systems / Effects / Equipment / Commodity / Server Config / FLUF (choose one)
Bug: Same as title. Ships can still dock after I CD a POB they are running towards to
Reproduction Steps:
  • Chase a ship to pirate
  • Get in range of POB they are gunning towards to and CD it
  • Target ship can still dock and escape

Additional Information: This has happened several times and still the same situation. Different POBS. First time was in Coronado, second was in Iverness, and this one happened in New London.

Do not repeat this template for unrelated bugs, each needs their own thread.

I was under the impression that attacking a POB to cause shields to be raised in order to prevent docking was inappropriate except in cases when the POB was already under siege.

Incorrect. It used to be “don’ shoot the base to drain shield fuel if you are not participating in a siege” but that has ceased to be the case years ago. As no fuel is drained and no damage levied, shooting a base to raise shields is okay. Indeed, that is the sole functionality of shooting a base now 22 hours a day, to raise its shields to deny docking.

So, say a bounty hunter shooting a Zoner base to keep an unlawful from docking is presumed to carry no legal or reputational consequences or retaliation from the org that owns the base?
Does this over-ride the rule that a transport that docks is not PvP dead?
Is the rule negated because you can get a shot off on a base not affiliated with the player's faction without repercussion?
Is it totally RP acceptable to shoot a base because it no longer affects PvP/Sieges through fuel usage?
