OVERVIEW

(MONTH, YEAR) is the first month of the official Cannonball Run hosted by the Sirius Racing Federation. For the inaugural race, those wacky Zoner scientists of the Taus are hosting the starting line! Starting at Ikarus Station near the Tau-37 Jump Hole, the race will go through the following systems, only utilizing Jump Holes:

Be careful though, word is the police of every house have picked up the chatter of this race and are going to do everything they can to prevent you from making it to the finish line! First one to the final ring of the track in Provence wins! Do you think you have what it takes?

DETAILS

Rules

No Trade Lane usage. Use them racing engines.
Leave your hatred at the door. No pissing matches.
No jump drives -- duh.
No blowing up opponents. CD's only. Disqualification if you do!
If a police officer CD's you and gets within 1k of your ship, you're under arrest, cool your heels in the brig criminal!
Police, no camping those Jump holes! 10k away minimum. Catch them criminals fair and square. Don't want them getting off on a technicality do you?
Have fun! No duh but it needs to be said anyway!

1st place: Kitted out Renzu Tsyuo racing yacht complete with racing engine of your choice, Jintsuriki Scanner, and SPRINGROSE thruster.
2nd place player: 2.5 Million Credits to an account of your choice.
3rd place player: Custom forum title centered around a racing theme.

Police

1st place in Arrests: Kitted out police interceptor (LF) from your house complete with your houses racing engine, Jintsuriki Scanner, and SPRINGROSE thruster.
2nd place in Arrests: 2.5 million credit bounty.
3rd place in Arrests: Custom forum title centered around a law enforcement theme.

NOTE

These events are a trial run and are expected to have some jank at the start until the kinks are worked out. Looking forward to seeing you out there!

Hollow Crown Ledgermen Faction Document (WIP)

This is a very early draft for a faction based on my "Another Line in the Ledger" story. I'm not sure if I'll ever post this up legitimately or not.

Please don't use this for your own ideas, if I choose to move forward with this faction following the story's completion, I'd rather not have confusion related to it's existence.

The Hollow Crown Ledgermen

The Hollow Crown Ledgermen, often just abbreviated as Ledgermen or "The Crown", are a Rogue organization which has gained some notoriety in recent months. Originating in the empty system of Kansas, they are drastically different from your standard fare Rogue. They are not common pirates but consider themselves heirs to a forgotten craft: Businessmen, negotiators, and enforcers who maintain a more disciplined style of underworld conduct.

Where other Rogues raid blindly and spend their spoils on foolish flights of fancy, the Crown invests. They run smuggling networks rivaling the Junkers, manage vice and contraband, and offer "protection" for those who know better than to rely on the promises the Navy often projects. They wear their crimes with a veneer of civility--carrying themselves as gentlemen and professionals, even when violence is necessary.

The Hollow Crown is not worn by kings but by those who sieze power in the cracks of the empire. Their ledgermen hold the pen as often as the knife, and either one may be used to balance the accounts.

Affiliations

This is a bit more complicated than a typical Rogue faction. The reason is the faction doesn't operate like a typical Rogue faction.

Friendly

Junkers - We see the Junkers are our distant kin. Smugglers and roustabouts, these rapscallions are our suppliers and transporters for our various exports throughout Sirius space--going to places where we cannot tread.
Hackers - The egg heads of the crminal underworld. Always needed for various tasks. They buy the Cardamine and other blackmarket tech we bring in via various smuggling routes, we get some tech support. It's a win/win.

Tolerated

Other Rogues - Most other independent Rogues and groups are less than...cultured. We tolerate them because we have to but that doesn't mean we want to be in their company.
Outcasts - Mutants who only have one real export: Cardamine. We might smuggle the disgusting substance throughout Sirius space for a profit, but that doesn't mean we partake--or want to be around them longer than we must.

Monitored

Liberty Forces - Navy, LPI, LSF, etc. We don't find ourselves enemies of these forces but they foolishly consider them ours. Most are level headed and won't bother us as long as our operations are above board in their company but the odd secondary fleet do-gooder might get a wild hair up their ass and try to take us out. Show them no mercy if they do.
Corsairs - The enemies of the Outcasts. Rarely seen in Liberty but they've been known to show their faces in California from time to time. Keep them at a distance.

Hostile

Xenos - These would be revolutionaries aren't to be trusted regardless of their honeyed words. They will stab you in the back sure as shit. Also, they're bastards.

Misc

The Ledgermen don't pirate, they offer protection for a fee. If you find yourself face to face with a Ledgermen of the Hollow Crown, they'll offer you protection, insinuating that something bad could happen to you on your route...that insinuation isn't too hard to understand. Pay them credits and they'll keep you safe, try to skimp out and you might find yourself in the very predicament they mentioned scarcely a few moments before.
