Guten Tag [LN] Command staff,

I am writing to you fresh from a lovely bar on Planet Manhattan. Today I ended up with a front-row seat to Kusari tearing itself apart.

I’ll keep this simple and spare you any tactical breakdowns. We don't need a military academy lecture to understand that when a house sets itself on fire, the neighbors can usually find a way to stay warm. I am forwarding this intelligence as I believe it presents a significant strategic opportunity for Liberty.

The Situation:
Total chaos broke out right on the doorstep of the capital. A group of protesters or rioters were crowding the docking ring when two Kusari Naval vessels - the IKN-Nagato and the IKN-Haruna - started pointing their guns at each other. From what I could piece together over the comms chatter, the IKV-Shintyu launched some shuttles planetside. Immediately after, the commander of the IKN-Nagato announced something called the "Kikosaku Doctrine", essentially branding, as witnessed, the Kusari Lord Protector a traitor.

The Escalation:
It didn't take long for words to turn into a bloodbath. The IKN-Nagato gave an open order to all naval units to fire at will on any non-naval assets. They completely wiped out the protesters and civilian ships in the crossfire. There were some other heavily armed vessels out there - some calling themselves "KOI" and a few others - and everyone just started shooting.

I kept the ship out of the main firing arcs, playing up my "shocked journalist" routine to avoid drawing fire. The IKN-Nagato ultimately focused its fire on the IKN-Haruna. Despite a few desperate attempts to fight back, the IKN-Haruna was trapped. They suffered critical failures, and I watched their reactor go critical. The ship exploded right there in orbit. It was a massive shockwave. It seems like the Kusari Lord Protector is gone.

I am also attaching my ship's logs here for your analysts.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
"Sparrow"
