New music is already being worked on I hear actually. By a music professional even (as in, he normally gets paid to do music).

Yup, the current track is too noisy. System background soundtracks needs to be calm without action. The action track comes in case of danger, as special warning and battle tracks.
I am working on a gallic space system background track also and presented a first concept on dev board.
It will take a while until its finished, because of my to do list and other priorities.

I like it and have never found it annoying. Personally I think it'd be awesome if there was a way to trigger that particular track (but not repeat) when entering Gallia. Discovering new frontiers should be complimented with an epic score. hehe
