Capships + Traders - MB52 - 06-11-2009 Ok, so first of all lets say a hypothetical situation.. A Liberty Battlecruiser encounters a Rheinland trader in liberty. Rules first of all say capships cannot engage him because he's a trader. But.. the ID says that we can turn around traders and make them drop the cargo, and destroy if they do not cooperate. What comes into play first? ID or Rules? Can the capship do anything to this ship? Capships + Traders - casero - 06-11-2009 ID comes first. Capships + Traders - Quorg - 06-11-2009 ID takes precedence, although you would be a butt for doing so. Call for reinforcements; it's not that hard and will certainly be better RP than just pew-pew pwnzoring the trader in your capship. Capships + Traders - reavengitair - 06-11-2009 Well I don't stop myself DESTROYING silly cardimine smugglers in Minor with my good old huntress in 4.84. I don't see how its a bad thing. Capships + Traders - tansytansey - 06-11-2009 ID takes precedence over server rules and fairplay now? Yeah, good luck with that, and see how far it gets you. Last time my Firefly got shot at twice by a Kusari Destroyer while I was Embargo running in Leeds (Got away the first time, explain his mistake to him... he shot me again when I came back the second time) he ended up losing all of his guns and credits. A battleship can literally kill a transport in seconds. Transports stand very little chance of getting away from cruisers. This is why the rule exists. Never attack transports in your cruisers and above, except in self defense or if they are inside your guard system without proper ID. Perhaps it needs to be written on Guard IDs in bold letters: "Cruisers and above may not attack transports or freighters under any circumstances" Capships + Traders - MB52 - 06-11-2009 Well, this is what confuses me. Personally I wouldn't destroy them, unless they are in Z21. But.. if I just wanted to launch a CD at them to stop them and RP before they run, I can't. Capships + Traders - jdftheman - 06-11-2009 well, i think that it should be allowed for cruisers or above to stop traders with force if needed, though only when they act like some sort of jumpgatecontrol like in SP where the missouri lies near the colorado jumpgate acting like an active defence system. In RP this would mean that the cap player shouldn't engage any of its engines, just keep still near the gate. When a trader passes by, they should try and stop him, and only when needed should they open fire on them (if they really don't comply) but they should only damage his shield, not take out the whole ship as that would be a bit over the line i guess. If the trader still makes a run for it, you should get some friends in fighters to intercept them. Capships + Traders - Dragon - 06-11-2009 So crusers are able to kill traders in few guard system right? OK so for me we could make new rule. Create Zones (warzone?) where cap ships can fire trader - like texsas for exsample zone near gate to bering and first trade lane. Creation of this zones shold be under control of "elders" and admins and should be posted on forums to warn every one with try to evade Liberty ships or Reihland. As for Leeds I do not understand why Kusari or bretonia cap ship is unable to kill trader for god sake this is WARZONE if cath by crosfire you die! If "warzone" not fit in Disko we need to develop in what sytuation Cap Ship is able to fire at trader. I know that it is unfair for traders but sometimes it get abuse by traders saying: "you can not fire at me I`am trader!!" You want to stop smugglers, you fly a Gunboat or Bomber. If you want a Cruiser or up, you do not fire on smugglers. Simple as that, and the same goes for pirating. Lets not complicate things further with ridiculous rules. |
