Supporting Liberty Since 0 AS

Background Story:

Before trade lanes and the new age technology of jumpgates, there was hard work and the original space transportation company, Universal Shipping. Pioneers who spent time and resources moving materials the old fashioned way, by cruise travel, from one system to another. Originally moving silver from California to Colorado in order to terraform Los Angeles, Universal Shipping earned their place as a vital part of the Libretarian society.

However, as time progressed transportation became easier. Ageira Technologies and Deep Space Engineering grew in power as their technologies allowed ships to travel above and beyond what was thought possible. Good news for humanity as a whole, bad new for the once all powerful Universal Shipping. As trade slowed down the once industrious workers and miners of Colorado were laid off and eventually pushed into a small mined out asteroid field. Once employees to Universal Shipping, these disgruntled blue-collars turned rouge and took on the name of Xenos. Even after becoming outlaws the once employed miners decided not to attack their employers, in exchange of course for the occasional donation of credits or weaponry.

Then came 181 AS and Universal Shipping finally secured a foothold in modern Libertarian society. Universal was able to have found a contract between Ageira and DSE that allowed them to move cargo between their bases. This allowed them to once again rise in power as the number one transportation company in Liberty. This, however, was a short lived prosperity.

After the age of Discovery, new groups emerged that came to dominate the sector market. Both Ageira and DSE started up their own shipping branches. Independent trading companies, such as the Interspace Neuralnet Division took over as the lead hauling group. And after the group known as the King of Fighters was contracted, the mainstream workers experienced a lack of livelihood so long that many decided to join the once blue-collar miners and wage war against the upper-class.

This went on until two major events took place. One was that the tensions between Liberty and Rheinland mounted until both sectors pressed into war. The second was the the KoF broke their major contract from Universal Shipping and set-up their own base in the system of Minnesota. A new market for military supplies sprang up, and two men saw this opportunity and struck with all the force they could muster.

Erik T. Demoses and Michael Trenton had not known each other long, but they became instant business partners. Both had been Universal Shipping employees, and both had risen through the ranks at tremendous speed.

Erik was a master of manipulation and a true patriot to the Liberty sector. He could charm even the hardest business man into selling his contract for a fraction of its real worth. However, his belief in honor was unquestionable and his word was true. Now as president of Universal Shipping he seeks to once again raise the main branch back into its period of prosperity.

Michael Trenton comes from a quarreled family, his mother's side are Xeno's and his father's side are all Universal traders. When he was a young pilot, he left Universal and his father, to live with his mother on Ouray Base. He was trained to be a fighter pilot there, and was promoted to a Royal. However, even though he wanted to be loyal to his family, he just didn't have the same moral values as them. He was allowed to leave the Xeno Alliance, without any hindrance thanks to his mother. After he was accepted back into Universal Shipping Incorporated, he made a lot of changes to the company. He trained the escort pilots, some say better than Liberty's finest. He showed the employees new and safer routes. Then after his father passed away he met Erik T. Demoses.

Together they wanted to reform Universal and mend new contracts to Liberty. They both have the same moral value and live by a code of honor. Together they decided to push forward with Universal shipping, and claim their rightful place amongst the great powers of Liberty.

Rules and Regulations: Here at Universal Shipping Incorporated, our number one priority is Liberty and it's people. Our goal is to help the citizens of Liberty and it's economy. We will donate to the Navy for new ships and equipment. We also hope to 'clean up' Liberty's bad name (Corrupted). Everything we do is to help our sector and to promote goodwill. As such we have a few rules regarding how you operate while with the USI.

1. Always be true to Liberty and her allies
a. Never, under any circumstances turn against the Liberty forces
2. Once in the company always in the company
a. Expect to be hunted like a dog if you sell out any of the secrets of the company or leave without paying your debts
3. No dealing with the bad guys
a. we are not a smuggling corporation so if you are caught with contraband expect to be fired
4. Respect the authority
a. Usually we are merely guests in another system, so make sure to show the proper respect
5. Be honest
a. This entire corporation is based on honesty, and we expect you to show integrity
6. //in order to join you need a valid RL contact point
a. ex. email, IM, or forum ID. In fact we prefer Forum ID.

Areas of Operation: As of this moment we are still expanding. As new alliances are made we will continue to do so, but until then this is where we will exist.

Trading Convoys:

Are trading convoys are more organized than most factions out there. We must be this way in order for all of our employees to be able to make good credits, always be protected, and so Universal Shipping Inc. can receive good income. This is how it works:

Each convoy consists of:
(1) CEO
(1) Manager (If available)
(2) Escorts (Cadets or Superior)
(4) Traders (Employees or Superior)

There will be a sign up sheet for Convoys and a time to meet. All members who signed up will meet at Trenton Outpost, New York System. The schedule is a "First come, First serve.." deal; CEO is allowed to substitute members for the following reasons:
  1. CEO feels that one member hasn't been given the opportunity to be in a convoy enough.
  2. A member has broken the Corp. rules and is penalized accordingly.
  3. CEO feels a member needs more training, and that member is required to participate in "Recruitment Training".
  4. A designated member was chosen for a mission for RP purposes.
At the start of the "meeting" The CEO will check attendance and give a brief on the assignment (Route) and any other news about Universal Shipping Inc. If there are any Trainees, they will be briefed on engagement rules and evasive maneuvers. (CEO will pick route)

When the assignment is completed, the credits are distributed (Profit = ROI X Cargo Capacity):
  • CEO collects 20% of profits from each Trader.
  • Each Escort collects 5% of profits from each trader.
  • With a full convoy, Each Trader ends up with 70% of their profit.
In the likely case that we are confronted by Pirate(s)/Terrorist(s) and CEO gives the order for engagement, Rewards are given as follows:
  • IF we win, each cadet is given 2,000,000 credits by CEO (If that cadet made it)
  • IF we lose, each cadet are given NO Reward.
  • IF an Employee is destroyed, that Employee receives 500,000 credits by the CEO, and CEO will place a bounty on the remaining hostiles. Route will either be resumed with a variation (if available) or a different route will be started.
  • IF route was not completed or failed [destroyed by Pirate(s)/Terrorist(s)], route will NOT be counted for your payroll.
Each member in the convoy will also receive a "Tally" for each completed assignment. At the end of the Work period (RL - 1 week) A CEO will count each tally and pay each member by rank.
Tally is represented as "t". (1t=500,000 Credits)
  • Trainee/Recruit: Not on payroll
  • Employee/Junior Cadet: (0.5t)
  • Supervisor/Cadet: (t)
  • Senior Cadet: (1.5t)
  • Manager: (1.5t + 2,000,000)
  • Public Relations Officer: 10,000,000
  • Recruiter: 250,000 for every accepted member
  • Recruit Trainer: 6,000,000 for every Recruit trained (This Price includes fitting the Recruit with a ship and weapons)

Universal Lottery

Universal Lottery is now available to the public. Every day tickets are available for purchase at Trenton Outpost, New York System.

Who is eligible?
  1. Any citizen of Liberty.
  2. Any citizen of Kusari.
  3. Any citizen of Bretonia.
  4. XA members.

  6. Bounty Hunters
  7. Most Junker members. (see our bounty board for those who are not eligible.)

How many games are there?
  1. 100,000 credit game; Starting prize is 1,500,000 credits.
  2. 1,000,000 credit game; Starting prize is 15,000,000 credits.
  3. 5,000,000 credit game; Starting prize is 75,000,000 credits.
  4. 10,000,000 credit game; Starting prize is 150,000,000 credits.
How do you win?

First you pick a game and how many tickets you would like to purchase. Then you pick your number(s). One ticket lets you pick one number out of two-hundred. At approximately 02:00:00 SMT, there will be a public drawing outside Trenton Outpost, New York for each game (//I use "/dice 200" to pick each number).

If there are no winners that day, there's no need to be disappointed. Your number will stay valid to win until there is a winner. Once there is a winner in a game, the prize will be reset to its original value and the tickets that were sold are no longer valid.

What are the odds of winning?

Each game has the same odds. For one ticket you get 1/200 (0.5%) odds of winning. Also take into consideration that if there are no winners of the chosen game, your number(s) will be valid until then. This means you have a chance to win with your odds every day!

Is there tax taken out of the prize?

Yes, 10% of the total prize is taken out. All of our profits go to support the Liberty Navy, the Navy Reserve (//A possible ‘weekend-job’ for Liberty Civilians – Still in development), and to all schools in Liberty. Thank you for supporting Liberty!
