Aki needs a home - Tenacity - 06-30-2009 Alright, before you vote, read and make sure you know what you're voting for. Brief background on Aki and her situation: Aki Kimura is an Order Guard ID'd and Tagged character who has been around for over a year now. She was, only a few months ago, part of the Order high command, but due to political issues within The Order, was forced to go 'rogue'. Aki believes in keeping true to the original purpose of the Order: Protecting humanity from alien threats at any and all costs. She does not care about political movements or struggles, she does not care who leads humanity as long as it's a human... her only purpose is to hunt down and destroy nomads and anyone infected by them. Now, due to the circumstances of her exile from The Order, and her position as an ex-Order Admiral, Aki is wanted by nearly every faction in Sirius. All of the Order-Allied factions want to bring her and her ship in for trial and likely execution, most of the non-Order factions want to kill her to collect the bounty on her head. Right now, Aki is travelling with her crew in an Order Light Carrier that she's had since 4.85 released. Such a ship needs a home base, a place to refuel, resupply, and repair. Up until a couple days ago, there was only one faction left in Sirius space that Aki had a chance at arranging a deal with for those needs... the Blood Dragons. Due to Lohingren's position as leader of the NovaPG, and his comments on the diplomacy that was ensuing between Aki and the Blood Dragons, that faction is out. The Blood Dragons do not want anything to do with her or her crew, and would rather turn her into the order for reward than help her out in her, IMO rather 'noble', mission. So, I'm left to working with factions outside of Sirius. There are two groups I'm considering here, The Council and the Gallic Royal Navy (i.e. gallic government). Pros and Cons to both: The Council: The Council is fighting a rebel war against the gallic government. The council wants to form alliances with Sirius factions, and allying with a rogue agent that most of sirius wants dead would not help them much to that end. However, Aki and her crew do have particular training in counter-insurgency, espionage, and infiltration that would greatly benefit the Council in their struggle against the crown. Unfortunately, the Council - in it's current plight - probably does not have much to spare in the way of resources, and would not be much use to Aki and her crew. The Gallic Crown: Gallia wants to take revenge by invading and conquering Sirius. To that end, Aki - with the information in the databanks of her Carrier - would be able to give the Gallic Government an extreme tactical advantage by providing valuable intel on ships and systems in Sirius. The Gallic government is also very expansive, and very wealthy - so it has plenty of resources to spare to Aki's ship in exchange for her information, and assistance. Now, as said before, Aki doesnt care who rules Sirius, she doesnt care about petty wars, she only cares about keeping the nomads and other aggressive alien species out of Humanity's way. She would not likely care about Gallia wiping out the rest of Sirius and taking over, so long as the nomads were put down - and after it's successful conquer of Sirius, the GRN would be a very powerful force in assisting Aki's assault agaisnt the Nomads themselves. The biggest issue is that the Gallic Government is not very trusting of outsiders - though once they learn that 99% of Sirius wants Aki dead, they would probably trust her a bit more than they would others. Now of course, neither of these are completely ideal factions, and it's going to look weird going with either one... but at this point I have no choice, nobody else in Sirius is willing to help out a rogue order craft when they stand little to gain and much to lose in return. These are my options, I have to pick one or the other... help me decide. Aki needs a home - Durandal - 06-30-2009 I have something you may be interested in, but I'd prefer to discuss it with you privately. Aki needs a home - Turkish - 06-30-2009 You have a particularly short sighted view, I can think of some alternatives. Aki needs a home - chovynz - 06-30-2009 Any reason why Aki can't use Zoners/Junkers as a base? (Apologies if that's a dumb question.) I'd see good reason for Aki to disguise herself, change ships responders etc. so that she can land on those places. Heck she'd have the resources. Order are technological genius aren't they? Aki needs a home - Tenacity - 06-30-2009 ' Wrote:You have a particularly short sighted view, I can think of some alternatives. please offer them, then. There are a few factors to take into consideration: 1. What can Aki offer to the faction in exchange for supplies and a docking point? 2. Does the faction value the money they could get in exchange for turning Aki in? 3. Does the faction have any connection whatsoever to the Order, Corsairs, Hogosha, or AFA? 4. Has the faction ever been on Aki's bad side in the past? That rules out nearly everyone. I cant even risk docking at freeports anymore because there could be Order operatives just waiting to take me out, hell the zoners themselves are known to love money enough that they might turn me in. ' Wrote:I'm not sure the admins would like me attacking traders in a carrier =P Well, it's a carrier, don't tell me it doesn't have fighters or bombers that could raid traders with, there are also supply depots scattered around space that could be raided as well. Aki needs a home - darthbeck - 06-30-2009 you know.... the gallic "lawfuls" would probebly torture you for whatever information you have... and then kill you or lock you up. and i think the council would be glad for your help and information, and might be willing to let you refuel every once in a while. Aki needs a home - Pinko - 06-30-2009 Gallic Royalist would be a big no. They already got the Junkers for all that. EDIT: Information wise. Junkers are everywhere. <.< Aki needs a home - Turkish - 06-30-2009 ' Wrote:please offer them, then. Going to Liberty is a simple solution. Quote:1. What can Aki offer to the faction in exchange for supplies and a docking point?Information, technolgical access, and I'm assuming a vast network of resources established by your character? Quote:2. Does the faction value the money they could get in exchange for turning Aki in?No. Quote:3. Does the faction have any connection whatsoever to the Order, Corsairs, Hogosha, or AFA?In the sense that they consider them volatile threats? Quote:4. Has the faction ever been on Aki's bad side in the past?Clearly, but that can be ignored for benefits. Aki needs a home - BaconSoda - 06-30-2009 I voted Council. No matter what kind of something you have, Gallic Royalty would want nothing to do with you. If you thought Kusari was elitist, in-RP, Gallia is like Kusari on steroids. Kusari might still harbor you, if you hadn't slighted us in the past, but Gallic Royalty harboring you has about as much chance as an Ice cube's in hell. At least, how I see it. |
