try starting the game form the dsupdate exe.
and the server might be down.

You were caught by a ban for another player...fixed now. PM me if you're still having connection problems.
One other thing: Don't start Freelancer from dsupdate.exe - since 4.85 final came out you only need to start Freelancer normally and it'll take care of any magic.
