Ship maneuverability values - Hawkwings - 08-05-2009

A while back, I saw a post on another forum linked from here explaining the ship maneuverability values that you can view in Datastorm. I can't find that now, and I was wondering if anyone either knew what the relationship is, or can link me to that explanation?

Bump, this confuses me too, all I know is that the bigger the number is the worse the handling.

Also confuses me.

I just let go of it... in the end.

Oh man...:Danother physics lesson...

Torque/drag = Speed

Torque/inertia = Acelleration

This is all you need to know...

I always thought that the only meaning you can get out of those is lower is better.

Those numbers are a lie. Seriously they are, because they are all relative. The larger and the wider the model the slower it will appear to turn, the narrower it is the faster it will look to turn. Each of those values has to crafted towards each ship. They will tell you very little about how a ship actually preforms.

Oh god, so they've been lying to me the whole time.

Damn machines.

Actually they can still be good when comparing ships of the same class and size.

It's some sort of relationship between the ship's handling values and the mass, I know. I just don't know the formula, which is what I'm looking for.
