Dear Madams & Sirs,

On behalf of all of our investors and members, I have the honour to submit this unofficial faction presentation of the Galactic Secure Trade Company.

This is NOT a faction proposal, since we modestly think we still do not have the funds necessary to do so. We want to play our RP without earning lots of money. Were doing it just for fun, not to show we have lots of cash, which we have not.

Thank you in advance for any remarks which may help us to establish and to run an efficient lawful and sometimes unlawful - organization. Were doing and will continue our best to fit bad in the cosmopolitical and economical system of Sirius. Im the one who will try to answer most of your questions, some of them may be answered by my vice-CEO Ladwin and GST Security Council Members Rendar and Tuckson.

I personally want to assure the Admin Staff of our will to conform to Discovery 24/7s rules and spirit by playing a complex, realistic and playable RP. So, whatever the unofficial destiny of GST might be or not, thanks for this impressive mod universe.

I wish you a nice lecture.

Best regards,
John Jack Burton
currently Chief Executive Officer of the
Galactic Secure Trade Company

unofficial faction presentation

This is a document describing our unofficial faction in the Discovery Sirius Galaxy.

1 Faction name and tag

Name: Galactic Secure Trade (Company)
Tag: [GST]
IFF: None

2 Faction description

2.1 A most complex and ambivalent founder

GSTs founder John Jack Burton is one of the most complex, ambivalent and maybe suspect personalities of Sirius.

Known to be a former Liberty citizen and businessman, opinions differ about his allegated implication in Liberty administration. There have been some foolish rumours he might be a former member of LSF, or have been linked to Liberty Intelligence, but some other better formulated - rumours say Burtons past has nothing to do with Libertonian Intelligence, but rather more with Libertonian Cupidity. Anyway, Burton made his way to a certain amount of money and, a couple of years after the terrorist attacks on Fort Bush (New York) in the year 3001, left Liberty space for some unknown location in Kusari. The House of Kusari was already at war with Libertys closest ally at that time: Bretonia. Which made Burtons departure to New Tokyo (or more probably Honshu) very suspect among intelligence and military observers.

The Galactical Board for Interstellar Investment, though, did first consider Burtons and his closest Security Officers (former Kusari Naval Forces Lieutenant Kusanagi) - new founded company the Galactic Secure Trade Company as a perfectly legal and neutral Zoner trading organization.

2.2 The Omega Incidents

This, of course, did not last for ever.

Unlike some other Zoners, GST new recruited members didnt accept the fact that, supposed to be neutral, they were also supposed to stay exposed to piracy and arbitrary interdictions while trading which often meant low profit, heavy repair costs or even... destruction.

In the first year of activity of GST, a whole trade fleet was destroyed in system Omega 5 by OPG members and their Corsair allies. A few months after this incident, a GST convoy of 3 Transports and Freighters, 1 Liner and 1 Security Zoner Destroyer, after having been intercepted by 2 OPG vessels in system Omega 41 while transporting unspecified commodities to system Omega 49, had to defend itself, damaged 2 corsair fighters, annihilated 2 corsair bombers and sent 1 corsair gunboat into a neutron star. This tragic event was the first cause of GSTs undefendable evolution, which led to its departure from the Zoner community.

2.3 The Last Fault

The second, most important event which made it impossible for GST to keep trading as Zoners, was the unexpected and - according to most observers - perfectly unbalanced decision of its CEO to accept one of the most dangerous and mysterious deals in Sirius, known among Intelligence Officers as the E.T. Run. In other words: the Kurile-Willard Alien Organisms Route.

After breaking a dozen times the Rheinland-Liberty Embargo, the GST became famous among Liberty Security and Military Officers as the most public smuggling company ever recorded.

It was at about that time that some well informed members of probably all House Secret Services gave CEO Burton the Jack nickname after discovering his mysterious Company might have recruited some former pilots from Jack the Black's ancient rogue team called "Ghosts of the Pirates" - but as you know, no real evidence has ever been published proving this.

3 GSTs Goals and Strategy

3. 1 Nothing frontal

GST is above all a profit-making smuggling Company. Although the Liberty Police Inc. and other Liberty lawful organizations, incl. the BHG, have decided to do their best to put an end to GST activities, the Company is not willing to prepare for frontal fight.
The first reason is: smugglers cant afford the firepower to confront House police and military organizations.
And the second reason: GSTs main official goal is simply to develop and maintain a trading fleet able to escape ennemies and to run every blockade instaured by Sirius House (or unlawful) authorities.

3. 2 Solidarity with fellow smugglers

As some (not well informed) smugglers pointed out in the last months, being an official smuggling company is no usual strategy. However, many anonymous, audacious and truly discreete smugglers have been supporting GSTs policy since the beginning of the Liberty conflict: While GST vessels are chased around by Liberty Law Enforcement patrols, other untagged smugglers can run blockades perfectly unnoticed. Creating diversion enabling fellow smugglers to make the most dangerous smug-runs safely is one of the smartest and most amazing achievements of Burtons and Ladwins strategic choices.

3. 3 The Shadow Project

GST Security Councils strategic thinking has been strongly influenced by Kusarian ancient strategists and even which might sound like a paradox for an extreme capitalistic organization by well-tried and proven SCRA war outlines. One of GSTs most brilliant Security officers, former Kusari Police Officer Ozu, was the first to explain GSTs methods in simple words, citing Pre-Migration war lord Sun Tzu: Act openly. Win secretly.

Rumors among Kusari Security agents let appear GST Security Council might have launched a secret funding program called Shadow whose aims and range today remain perfectly mysterious. It is not clear, still, wether these rumours might have been created from nothing by GST desinformation developers themselves. No doubt the most concerned House agencies will try to gain more knowledge of the Shadow project very soon.

4 Diplomacy and agreements

4. 1 Relations to Zoners

GST, whose leaders have never belonged to the honorable Zoner Council, has cut almost every relations to Zoners, inclusive former potential ally Zoner Trading Consortium.

4. 2 Relations to Liberty and Bretonia Authorities

GST has been declared ennemy by Liberty Police Inc. (LPI), Liberty Security Forces (LSF), Liberty Naval Forces (LN) and, as a way of consequence, by their closest ally in Bretonia: the Bretonia Armed Forces (BAF).

4. 3 Relations to Rheinland Authorities

GSTs ambassadors have of course tried to corrupt high ranked Rheinland officers, but in vain.

4. 4 Relations to Kusari Authorities

GSTs ambassadors know perfectly well there is no possible agreement with Kusari lawful organizations. They didnt even try to corrupt any of their members.

4. 5 Relations to the BHG

Theres a bounty on all GST pilots and some 4 or 5 smuggler vessels have already been shot down by hunters. Relations with the BHG couldnt be worse.

4. 6 Relations to unlawfuls

For rather obvious reasons, very little is known about connexions between GST and unlawful factions. But GST seems to maintain very good commercial relations with both the Outcasts and The Corsairs, providing these normally opposite factions with all the commodities they need despite of all blockades.

5 Structure of the Company

I recommend a Freelancer IFF, you can get the double-bribe on Barrier Gate Station in Coronado. Mainly because you'll likely get one eventually from killing NPCs, and this way you can make sure everyone has the same.

GST FACTION PRESENTATION - reavengitair - 08-09-2009

I agree with Thexare.

Alternativley, you could have no IFF...

GST FACTION PRESENTATION - Death.RunningVerminator - 08-09-2009

I think for them no IFF is best.

' Wrote:Alternativley, you could have no IFF...
That's what they already have. The problem with that is that any escort fighter likely will have to kill some NPCs at some point simply to get them off (those annoying flies can kill you eventually, especially in Omicron space), and that will eventually give them an IFF. Freelancer IFF, in this case, shows that they're not affiliated with any faction but themselves and provides insurance against incorrect IFFs.
