Quote:Mining and Collections, Inc.

History

Started in 817 A.S. By a former Junker known only now as Malei. He was very largly involved in some previously known Smuggling deals, namely the Cardimine trade with the Outcasts. He quit smuggling after so many harsh run ins with Anti-Cardimine factions, such as IMG, Hogosha, and House police. Junkers were prominent in Scrap Metal collections, and met up with a few former Junkers, and began a small mining operation called MCi. The business proved profitable, but it would take hard teamwork in order for anything to really get somewhere.

Most of the original starters of the group are former Smugglers, many being Former Junkers themselves. So far, virtually all of the vessels being used are made by or designed by Junkers, as well. Though Junkers are often viewed as Quasi lawful, more leaning towards the Unlawful side. MCi wants it image to be more towards Lawful. Many of the miners have served prison time, and wish to have a successful job that's going to keep them out of prison. Still, many of them have past ties with unlawful factions that will never be removed. It is expected that some of the members may have addictions or other problems to deal with, and that treatment is required in order to remain a member of the group. There is also the relations between the factions that used to handle the drug and contraband distribution of the former smugglers. Long time smugglers, such as Malei, have served as very high rate importers and exporters of Slaves and Cardimine, and hope to use that past smuggling to influence a decrease in piracy and attacks against the MCi employees.

One of the main lures that the MCi uses for employees, is the ship loan we offer to new pilots, which enables them to aquire a Collector and begin work right away, paying off the loan as they work.

The MCi are actively looking for other corperations to purchase more capable vessels, pick up mining contracts, to become a very successful mining Corp. So far, they've taken active refuge in the Pittsburgh Debris Fields, beginning their business there, with expansion plans to many other areas throughout Sirius

//We aim to encourage a more RP environment in game, and give some of the newer players not only a chance to make some good starting money, but to get involved in an active Roleplay situation. We've already have a few new players to the game join, and have shown signs of the 'lolvirus' to be wearing off. Experienced members are also welcome to join the group, as this a very fun alternative to trading, that gives a much better RP opportunity, since you don't have to sprint through systems or get stopped by the 2mordai pirates.

Feedback, tell us what you see or would like to see, and I'll change the subject or point out the minor flaws in your arguement. Be constructive!

I must say I have enjoyed working with you guys so far, you're actually one of the few factions that focuses only on mining, and you're doing a decent job. So far your system is working rather well.

I suggest trying to expand your mining operations somehow. While being Junkers sure helps with mining scrap, that more or less limits you to two scrap fields.

Maybe you can enter into diplomatic talks with other mining factions...and former miners.
Try talking to the IMG, BMM, Mollys, Hessians and the DSE. Be on the fence with the lawfuls and unlawfuls, maybe you can hammer out a deal to mine in Bretonian gold fields or Hessian controled lava clouds.

I have not actually seen a mining ship from you guys yet, I know that it does not get a scrap bonus (or I think so) but get your hands on one and your mining operations can be expanded.

EDIT: The name is not something I am a total fan of...no offense. It does remind me of CMI, Core Mining Industries, a mining group from Tachyon: The Fringe. They were very successful, but often entered into small battles over mining rights.

Thank you for your feedback.

Right now, we don't plan on expanding until the 4.86 release, as that will give us ample time to asses how mining will change, and where we could place ourselves in the coming change. It'll help get our RP aligned as well.

Some of our ships are Mis-Identified, we are junker related, but the use of the ID is negotiable at this point.

The reason for our lack of Mining ships, is that 22 million to supply players who may or may not continue to work with us, is very risky. Scrap metal collected by the Collector is a mere 2 million handout, that we can do that many times over. We also have little mining experience as far as income goes in other areas, we've tried a number of other 'hotspots' of mining, but haven't found any as successful as Pittsburgh.

We do hope to fence the Lawful/Unlawful bridge, many of our characters biographys link to an unlawful past. I have talked to a couple of factions in Liberty over ship trade and what not as well.
