In The Beginning - Eppy - 08-18-2009

In the Beginning, there was nothing.

Nothing, of course, is boring as all get-out, so God came and, in seven days, made Discovery.

On the First day, he made the Systems, Jump Holes, Jump Gates and the Trade Lanes.

On the Second day, he made Liberty.

On the Third day, he made Rheinland.

On the Fourth day, he made Kusari.

On the Fifth Day, he made Bretonia.

On the Sixth day, he made Outcast, Corsair, and the Nomads.

And on the Seventh Day, God opened the gates into Discovery. A few people came in, and God began to play in Discovery, and it was good. God and the others began clumsily experimenting with Discovery; they weren't very good at it, but they tried, and they learned, and they had fun, and it was good.

Gradually, more and more people came into Discovery, and it was still good. Some of these new people took a bit of explaining of how things worked, and once in a while one of them would go off his rocker and had to be kicked out of Discovery, but hey, the rest of us still had fun.

Then, one day, Outcast and Corsair, who were very good friends who liked to playfully spar with each other, noticed fruit on one of the trees, named Balance. They both simultaneously ate of this fruit, and, suddenly, something snapped. Outcast and Corsair immediately tried to kill each other, each trying to get better stuff than the other, and that night Discovery burned. God left Discovery for better things, and while many of Outcast and Corsair's children tried to remain friends while still dealing with permanent affliction of Balance, but many of them lapsed, and a number of individuals were wholly devoted to trying to voraciously kill the others and get better stuff. And it's been that way ever since.

Discuss.

EDIT: Also, there was an additional eighth day, where God made satirical but well-intentioned guys like me, but that was later, and he did it as an afterthought.

Eppy, you might be more happy here when you stop seeing conspiracies behind every action.

Here, I fixed that for you.

I deeply care about the message of this thread as well as about that of the first person to respond to it.

Really.

Conspiricah, Michael? I don't see a conspiracy. I see one guy. I was going to ask you to please, please, PLEASE not make this an issue, but I think it's a bit late for that.

EDIT: No, Zig, I really don't think you do.
