Im an Outcast Tridente pilot, and, in addition to my patrols in Alpha, I also assist Outcasts in lighter ships who wish to pirate. One thing I've noticed as of late is that the quality of the average LN officer is declining. Not power-wise, but in their ability to follow the orders of their superiors, and the way they handle pirates.

One gleaming example of this is an incident that occured yesterday, when I was returning from Liberty to Alpha. Iwas being chased by at least 6 officers of mixed LN and LPI affiliation, and was apprehended, despite the multiple countermeasures I deployed. I was not in the mood for a fight, and simply told them the truth: I was going to Alpha. We actually had very good RP, and I agreed to continue on my way without escort.

That was until a certain [CENSORED] arrived. He immediately engaged me, without warning or an engagement notice. Despite multiple orders from his fellow officers, he did not break of his missile barrage. Pathetic. At the very least the LPI seem to be fair and fun to RP with, as one of them (I beleive his name was Nick Da'Lotte) let me pass through so I can get back to Alpha.

Is there anything we can do to remedy this problem? This seems to happen alot, and it really makes it alot less fun for everybody. Maybe there should be a thread where things that have the potential to seriously affect the overall gameplay experience of the server in a negative way, like people that repeatedly engaging other players without provocation, or repeated OORP actions. I beleive these people should also be sactioned in some way.

This ship is an indie Naval ship. Besides, if he engaged you without warning, you should post that in the discovery forum rules section. with evidence of course.

This also happened to me in one of my LR characters. Do you want to know what I do?

I'm a pirate. The lawful forces uber me. I deal with it. It's a game, who cares? You can say "Ha ha ha, that was fun!" Although in your case I would say that he was in the wrong and he should be marked as a rogue agent and to be killed on sight.

In order to avoid a lock and trial-by-froum screamers, I suggest you censor the name.

Just a friendly suggestion.

Nicely written but it is a trial by forums.

You better talk to that guy directly ingame and if he do not respond feel free to write a sanction report.

Remember RP is not always fun for both sides. I NEVER enjoy being pirated, yet people still do it to me. Same thing with you. Time you got some payback. I mean, happens to all of us

There are some indies who just have a habit of not giving a damn. The only way we can change that is by teamkilling.

Ok... Not a problem then.

There is little we can do about some certian independants being a little trigger happy. The official [LN] faction which I lead, like all factions, is rather restricted as to what it can do about people who don't adhere to common sence who are not in the [LN].

This means we get as frustrated as you when we see grotesque overkill, oorp behaviour, minor breakages of the rules form these individuals. It's highly annoying. Liberty does have a very bad record for cap spam and overkill, not to mention oorp and general idiotic behaviour. I've tried to change the culture there on several occasions but to very little avail.

There are however a few gems in the mass of indy battlecruisers. For instance Jimmy Paterson's LABC the Louisburg Fortress is one of those people who doesn't fly the ship because it's large and powerful, but because it's a good RP platform.

I just wish people like the individual you named (and a few others) would follow his example as to how to behave as an independant capitol ship.
