Some Ideas of mine:
Now i don't know if these have been suggest already so i'll just say.
1. Overcharging engines - What i mean is when in cruise possibly a Button were if you hold it down. Your speed raises to 450 instead of 350. But your energy levels run down and possibly some hull damaage.
2. Jumphole grouping - Now when you and maybe two people grouping you jump through a Jumphole why do they suddenly lose being group? Maybe once on the other side you are in the same formation and all still grouped up as when you jumped.
3. Jumpgates for Guard Systems. No Tradelanes will lead up to them, So you do have to Cruise up to them and possibly some Guard Missle turrets that shoot all those who are hostile top that Guard faction...
4. Nano recharge. Maybe instead of a instand hull repair, maybe a slow repair so once clicked maybe your hull slowly gains repairs instead of a quick "Zip" and your all done.
5. Capital Armour VIII. Maybe instead of a 4.0 Increase maybe a 4.2, I honestly don't know why people buy it for an extra 0.2 of armour.
6. Weapon restrictions maybe when you have a Navy ID for example and you pick up some Outcast weapons or Nomad. maybe they get greyed out like when they say 'your ship does not have the hard point to hold this weapon' they should also say 'You are not allowed to mount this weapon' That would hopefully cut down a few lolwutters.
7. Marines. Now just for RP and Cargo like military vehicles maybe soldiers... now in space ship crews it says doctors guards and soliders blah blah blah. But i think soldiers should be seperate. I am in love with the army and well I would like it to be seperate. so then when people say "Get the Marines ready prepear to board" It makes it more clear...?? Possibly?
8. NPC Cruise Disrupters iun PNC groups there is 4. Maybe the leader is the only one with a Cd?
