Bounty hunter OORP raids - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 09-07-2009

THe constant raids of pirate home systems with BH fleets. What the hell?

1. Corsairs, Outcasts, Hessians and other pirates are not enemies of bounty hunters. Yes, they are hostiles, but not enemies. Bountyhunters are not trying to annihilate the whole house of Corsairs or Outcasts as a whole. Only to hunt for money.

2. BH already wages a war on Order, why should they trow whole fleets to pirate houses just to be destroyed.

3. Why bounty hunter would want to annihilate his source of income completely?

SO the main question. If I'll found bountyhunters invadign pirate home systems with huge fleets, would this be sanctionable offence. Lets say as OORP? (If that would be mass invasion with a lot of caps)

Report it as a PvP abuse.

Although, I think there is a cover blanket bounty on each of these factions.

just cause you don t like it makes it less plausible. - bounty hunters have concentrated on gamma and alpha even in vanilla. - they deployed their most powerful ships there ever since ( hammerheads ) - against the heaviest ships in vanilla ( sabres / titans ).

in disco - the guild gained capital warships - but its not like the pirate factions haven t got their own. - corsairs have a dreadnought that is more powerful than the mako ( more armour, more firepower, more power ) - and the outcasts have even two largest warships, a battleship and a dreadnought to choose from.

can t say its uneven in favour of the guild. - there is plenty of reason for the guild to permanently attack gamma and alpha without hesitation. - there is even reason for them to do it all day long with overwhelming forces and the greatest power they can muster.

as long as the corsairs attack the core who is fighting for nomad technology - the core has reason to stage raids on gamma. - if the corairs would simply stay out of the struggle between the order and the core - being neutral to the "war" ( which they are not ) - then there d be a foundation to say "you have no real reason - at least not with your largest ships" - they don t.

there are non-factionized players as much as factionized player interfering with the cores business - so one must assume that it is the will of the corsairs to interfere with the cores business ( henceforth calling the interference "canon" for the corsairs )

you cannot attack the core when they fight for the nomads and then complain when they come for you. if you don t like it - why are you hanging out at crete? - there are plenty corsairs that would never see a single core ship, cause they are staging themselves at different bases and doing the piracy job where the core cannot or is not going.

one thing that it certainly is not is "ooRP". its basic canon RP for the guild to invade gamma. - gamma offers plenty of missions - and they are all against bounty hunters that invade gamma. as long as the corsairs deploy capital warships, their enemies will do, too.

when its about hessians - i daresay, the BHG|core has not attacked the hessians on their turf with massive fleets - like ever. even the outcasts are rather left alone, cause alpha is just located in one of the more boring places of our map - with kusari as a "belt of dullness".

This is like asking why loggers don't give the trees time to regrow at the rate they're cutting them down. A bounty hunter can kill all the corsairs at once, or all of them slowly, the money's the same to him, and I'm pretty sure he isn't thinking about if his grandson can collect the bounty on some corsair babies.

There is no longer a bounty on Corsairs in Gamma. If you're being raided, they're doing it wrong.

Apart from that, it's a little difficult for them to do anything when y'all refuse to set foot outside of your home systems. Camping Malta/Crete/whatever hellborne planet the criminals call home.

Bounty hunter OORP raids - Jinx - 09-07-2009

bounties are irrelevant - the core does not claim a bounty anyway. - they perform military strikes to achieve their military goals. - for the core it matters very little if there is money on a corsairs head.

but what counts is that - as long as the corsairs interfere with their ambitions with the edgeworld technology, they will consider them a threat to their cause - and since they are not the negotiating type, they ll rather fight.

they are fighting a war - and those that side with the ones they are at war with become a valid target of warfare, too. - the BHG should not primarily focus on the corsairs of course ... but the corsairs are a secondary target in the war, cause there have been too many corsairs that not only aided the order ( due to their hardcoded alliance ) - but also too many corsairs that claimed to be laying siege to the BHG battlestation in delta. ( an act similar to a core fleet laying siege to crete )

I'm with Jinx on this one. Nothing wrong with BHG Core raids and there are plenty of justifications that can be sought for it. There are always player Outcasts in Alpha dying to npc BHG destroyers on missions, after all...

Actually the BHG|Core Guildmaster has issued orders not to capship raid Gamma (for the time being).

The renegade hunters tagged with Apocalypse are not part of the BHG|Core. They are capship raiding Gamma as their main raison d'etre for existance, disregarding BHG|Core authority in such mastters, which is why they have fallen out with the BHG|Core.

On the other hand, if Core capships are in pursuit of Apocalypse tagged ships, and gets attacked by Corsairs or their allies, there might be repercussions. I wouldn't expect a capital raid on Gamma to be excluded from such repercussions.

Bounty hunter OORP raids - NonSequitor - 09-07-2009

BHG Core fights the Order for Nomad tech. The Order is closely allied with the Corsairs, ergo the raids on Gamma.

An rp way for the Corsairs to deal with this would be for them to maintain a neutral stance with the Order.

Take away the alliance and the BHG Core loses the rationale for assaulting Gamma with capships - it wouldn't make any strategic sense to waste time and resources in Gamma.

Very objective, understandable and logical; I agree with Jinx in each and every sentence.
