Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Bluntage - 09-09-2009 Hey Folks, I've been wondering this for awhile and have never seen anyone sanctioned for doing it so I am assuming you're allowed. I was entering into Tau 29 with my Zoner Transport and was pirated by a Pirate Tagged Brigand I saw earlier with another character. He was using Freeport 6 as a pirate staging ground to pirate traders coming from Baffin (and using it to land). He accused me of shipping to Gallia (and he was right) and asked for $3M credits. We didn't really get into it because I nicely advised I wanted to check the rules since last I checked he wasn't allowed to operate there. I checked and he was right (recent rule change). By doing so I also kind of ruined the rp of it a bit when I tried to get back into it and he destroyed me for taking too long to respond to his demands. So here's where I need clarification. Can you destroy Zoner PCs and then land on their bases. If I was going by what I thought (hence the poll), I'd say outside a system with a Zoner base you could and you'd be okay but in Zoner territory (or shared Zoner territory) you should require a hostile rep status and not land on their bases. His "Pirate ID" specifically gives Zoner landing rights. So is this allowed? Should it be allowed? ************************************************************* Correction: Last question on poll should say "Outside a Zoner System" ************************************************************* Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Jaysom_Blackfist - 09-09-2009 I believe we should if you trespass in our space and do not do as ordered to examples from the past we had Zoners Enter Chugoku that were asked to leave many times, their responce to us saying for them to leave "we are zoners we can go where we want and you can't stop us" they learned quickly that their gunboats and fighters are not the best of things to fight in a asteroid field. Where we in the wrong for destroying Zoners not willing to cooperate and leave our space? I really don't think so and I am sure the Zoner council would agree that since we did ask them to leave its their own fault for getting destroyed all five of them against only four Blood Dragon bombers. Zoners are not allied with everyone they are "allowed" to go places they do not get a free pass to go anywhere they please just because they have a Zoner ID, if the owner of the system asks or even demands you leave the system you should not sit there and say "I am a Zoner you can't do anything to me" I have seen that time and time again not just as a NovaPG but I use that the most because he is my main character I played over the last year. The biggest mistake that the Zoners(and most people) do not know about NovaPG is we are not just Blood Dragon Guard our ID also gives us the ability to commit Terrorism but we do not exercise that often. /end rant edit:if you read that after I first posted I had to edit quickly I said are allies ment to say are not. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Bluntage - 09-09-2009 Couldn't agree more. It's 100% not Zoner Space. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - tansytansey - 09-09-2009 Doesn't sound right to me. Also, a pirate tagged Brigand in Tau-29? That ain't right neither. I faintly recall something silimar about people pirating Junkers and then docking on Junker bases a while back, I don't recall what became of it though. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Jaysom_Blackfist - 09-09-2009 I do not think pirates should be attacking or pirating Zoners outside Zoner bases but in none zoner space or away from their stations/planets, but away from their bases and spaces they are not special because they Zoners they have to equal to every other trader in the eyes of a pirate. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Exsiled_one - 09-09-2009 Killing an ship nearby freeport or pirating it, and then docking on the same freeport is such a bad taste thing and it shouldn't be done. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Cyberanson - 09-09-2009 What should be okay: blasting Zoners far away from everybodies eyes. What is not okay: blasting Zoners near Freeports and then docking at them during the next hours. In my opinion it is okay to rob and blast them, but keep it realistic. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - jcolwell - 09-09-2009 I think that pirates should not pirate Zoners at all, the official RP is that Zoners provide food, water, oxygen and loads of other supplies to the Pirate factions of sirius. Wouldn't shooting them be like killing the golden goose? Wouldn't shooting them be like killing the golden goose?:crazy:Listen: I doubt that pirates care for who the Zoners are and what they do. They have money/cargo, the pirates want money/cargo. Easy as this. Ah yes... Zoners are greedy vultures in my eyes. Pirating Zoners and RP Base Obligations - Jaysom_Blackfist - 09-09-2009 Zoners do not supply everyone with that, a lot of the pirates "steal" what they need from the traders they rob especially the Kusari pirates because they do not want any involvement with any outsiders. Many Zoner Player Characters do not do anything with the pirates except dock at their base and take what they want including weapons and ship parts. So trying to pull the "we supply everyone" card is not completely true. The Offical RP of Zoners is complete shot out of a cannon as F.O.D. with most of the Zoner characters especially the Zoner Traders thinking that the Zoner ID gives them free right to trade anything through where ever they want which it does not. Also if a Zoner wants to RP a reason for entering spaces of Pirates and offer to bring supplies to the base I am sure many pirates would leave them alone if they accually did the RP of bringing food and such to their bases as well as the lawfuls. |
