Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - Fletcher - 09-14-2009 This popped up during a convo in LPI Chat. Since Liberty and Rheinland are in near/total war, does this mean each side can use their enemies against them? e.g. Can Liberty Navy/Police co-operate with Rheinland unlawfuls (Unioners) to fight against Liberty? So IN RP, can the House lawfuls, aid the enemy unlawfuls in their activities? In a phrase, funding partisans? Another question is though, would the unlawfuls AID the lawfuls in their fight? e.g. Unioners and RM join forces to repel Liberty Naval forces. This is a little grey area in my mind. What do you think? It may open possibilities in RP, but would the factions agree or something? Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - Exsiled_one - 09-14-2009 would an LPI officer sink down to the level of joining the pirates and unlawfuls? Doubt it. enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. no more, no less. Or in some cases, would the Rheinland (any house) unlawfuls aid the local lawfuls to stave off an invasion? With the exception of when I'm out in Delta, and lots of blue squishies come out to play - then it's any humans, time to cooperate against the alien monsters, regardless of what you happen to be. We can always kill each other later. Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - Turkish - 09-14-2009 Thats a rather silly attitude for both of you to take. When in war, you take any and all advantages you are given. Supporting a second front within your enemy's domain is a brilliant edge. Funding a rebellion, revolution, or even encouraging attacks are well within the scope of Liberty or Rheinland's abilities. But who would willingly work with them? Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - AJBeast - 09-14-2009 That one is a bit of a touchy subject. Rheinland in particular , is filled with revolutinairs rather than pirates. I doubt that , even if they do fight the house , they would aid Liberty against it. Its much more likelly than they would attack the outsiders. EDIT: Wrote it all wrong the first time , sorry. Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - Fletcher - 09-14-2009 True, Rheinland is full of revolutionary patriots over pirates. But I am asking for this to all Houses. But it is a 'well it depends' thing I know that. I mean, in real life diplomacy, funding partisans and coup de tats are logical, and have happened I think. Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 09-14-2009 Like red hessians are not going to co-operate with Liberty officials. Even if the yahte their goverment and trying to overtrow it. Why? Becouse they are their nations patriots. Thats not only the enemy's enemy that counts, but ideas, and objectives are the most important. Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - Exsiled_one - 09-15-2009 all valid points. but hey, i'm just giving a personal opinion. And true fact about the nomads and wilde. first we take care of aliens then we take care of each other with guns Enemy of my enemy is my friend? - Donutman - 09-15-2009 I see all the RH unlawfulls killing liberty's supply line. same with the Xenos. |
