Hunt for the Object - looqas - 09-15-2009 An idea which someone might want to take further (please be free to use it as you like). All ideas how to improve this are more than welcome. I had in mind a game of chasing the object that passes hands throughout the Sirius. Like the "Faberge egg" in the single player. Everyone who has it dies, but just manages to give the object to the next person in line. So this is a hybrid of bounty hunting/retrieve the item(s) and group RP played in the the game as well as here at the forum. I'm thinking that you need to kill the player in possession of the item in order to get it to yourself after which you'll be hunted of course. :) I have 2 choices how to make this work. A) Either we have a list of players (in participating order and have to be involved) which then is processes name by name. And we make it work so that if you are killed you write the RP post how you managed to hand it to the next one in line JUST before you ate that blaster. And I could give the killer a small bonus, but regrettably he/she has managed to move the item to the next person in the list. OR B) we can let this develop on it's own and see where it goes. Option A is more fool-proof. Option B needs a time limit and possibly a very lengthy discussion in game to make it work to make sure the recipient of the object know what this is about. And it's very unpredictable. Who's up for it? Oh, and I need some good ideas about what's the item worth killing and dying for. Too bad we don't have any unique items in the game. Would the admins be willing to give a warning notification for this purpose? This would actually make option B more viable. But the risk is someone getting nailed out there and johnny-ignorant sells the item. And the other is that what do you do when you have it. I mean the personal goal should be something more than just survival. One idea is that I (or couple of us) could play the dungeon master giving the assignments if you are in possession of the object, like go to planet Leeds to see "Toby". Of course this means that knowing the affiliation of the players so that we can give assignments that do not break the rules. Option B is very lucrative in the sense that it allows freedom, but it has hazards bigger than in option A. To make it work better I think this should be open to Freelancers, Civilians, Mercs and Hunters. To include others is a bit of stretch to be able to roam the Sirius at will. Maybe traders too although killing someone is harder in transports. So refine this idea and let me know if you are interested. Hunt for the Object - n00bl3t - 09-15-2009 Option C. Everyone has 24 hours to sign up here, or on another page. Each person gets the object for two posts. (Unless you are taking this in-game as well. If so, option B. It will be fun as opposed to an organised thing.) Edit: Yes, bolded. Option B. If it goes wrong you can always try again. Hunt for the Object - looqas - 09-15-2009 In-game of course! A simple idea to make option A work. - People have x days to sign in on this. - I put a bounty on bounty board detailing what going and who's the first target - I write the group RP's first post and then post assignments there. - If bounty is collected the person who died posts to the group post about him passin on the object - and when the list is completed the one who kills last dude on the list returns the object to me and gets the reward Option B could work on similar lines but then whoever claims the bounty will get targeted next. Which is workable too. BUT how to end this is more of a problem in this case. The problem is that I need a partner in this. I don't have much time on my hands so it would help immensely to keep the game going on. |
