Outcast Dreadnought Model - Nightfall - 04-04-2007 Well, I had to get off system modding for a while 'cause I started explaining people stuff in FL by using terms such as 'miningbase_nomad' or 'pi_large_station_turret_mark_03' While listening to Billy Cobham's relaxing jazz 'Dippin' the Biscuits in the Soup', remembering a recent conversation with Igiss about the various non-FL models of ships in Discovery, in particular the Outcast Dread, I started drawing this, something close to my vision of an Outcast Dread design as it should be: [attachmentid=1814] So, here's a piece of my mind to the ship builders out there... Can you make one? Outcast Dreadnought Model - CrowHunter - 04-05-2007 I MIGHT be able to.... If some1 tells me what extention i need to have the finished file in to be used, cause i will use SU but what program do i use to add hard points on with? Sorry im a new person on the forums, but i have played the mod for quite some time Outcast Dreadnought Model - Sid - 04-05-2007 nice very outcat like indeed. sadly i dont know how to ship model. Outcast Dreadnought Model - Panzer - 04-05-2007 Interesting vision, looks like a sabre, turned upside-down. Outcast Dreadnought Model - Nightfall - 04-05-2007 Well, what I actually did was I took a screenie of a Sabre, cut it's lower part (the wings and support, entire construction) and put the whole thing on top of it. The 3D model could use cutting (shortening) the side wings to half and loosing the cockpit. To make it really resemble what I mean, the 'body' can use some lengthening. Now, for the extension, the models uses 3 files .cmp (the 3D model), .mat (materials and bumpmaps) and .sur files (hitbox? possibly something more). Of course, there's the definitions in the .ini files but that's more than just making the model, that's getting it into the game. What people use to make all those is Milkshape, it's native extension is something in the lines of .ms3d (I can't remember atm). Much more info can be found by looking at www.lancersreactor.com forums, there are a few Ship Creation Tutorials there. I would have taken a shot at it myself but with these systems I'm doing if/when they get through I might try. True, the Procurator class Battlecruiser looks good, but it's a Star Wars ship. Outcast Dreadnought Model - Igiss - 04-05-2007 CrowHunter, please visit lancersreactor.com and see their modding forums. There are lots of tutorials, programs etc there, but we won't be able to help with that. On TLR, look for Ship Creating Tutorials in downloads and on forums. Hardpoints are added by HardCMP program that's also easy to find. Outcast Dreadnought Model - Qunitinius~Verginix - 04-05-2007 Hmmm, Interesting, I will say, that I can't really mod, but that looks quite promising. Making the capital ships with vanilla ships in mind is our best bet at Keeping discovery the best mod. Verginix out Outcast Dreadnought Model - alpha3 - 04-05-2007 It's very good! It is look like as a Sabre. Outcast Dreadnought Model - DBoy1612 - 04-05-2007 Hmm. Very intresting... Maybe I will get in to ship modeling, as I am not getting very far in Photoshop:P Outcast Dreadnought Model - supernova - 04-05-2007 Looks cool.Good work Nightfall:) |
