Thank you - Dormat1 - 09-17-2009 I was sitting out side of the battleship Missouri in Liberty today in my star flier (Had to start a new Character.). I was contemplating weither to give up on Freelancer and play some other game. (I recently had to buy a new computer due to my custom PC dieing a slow horrible death & losing all of my previous accounts.) Then the next thing I know a member of the Bounty Hunters Guild Guard gave me 100,000 credits. I didnt catch their name in game just the red BHG. I would like to personally thak you for theat random act of Kindness. I'm goin to take that money and buy a defender and when I get enough experiance I'm going to join the BHG. Cole _Cornelious (Bounty Hunter Wantabe) Thank you - Birdtalon - 09-17-2009 Hehe, nice bit of kindness there. Be good and you might expect some more coming;) Thank you - Canadianguy - 09-17-2009 I saw that too, its becoming popular and many guys seen to have fun giving 100K to low levels. Keep it up guys. For a powertrader 100K is nothing, but for a starter, its what able you to get a rhino and get more money. Thank you - Hundra - 09-18-2009 I got quite lucky when I started this, 2 people gave a combined total of about 4mill, I never saw them again. Thank you - Forbidden2mv - 09-18-2009 It's always nice to help newcommers on the server with small amounts of credits. Almost anyone can spare 100-200k credits. Thank you - MB52 - 09-18-2009 I prefer to hire them to do evil things.... Ok.. whoever reaches the sun first wins... *boom X2 * Awww you both lost... Nah I'm just kidding, I'm not evil like that... >=) Thank you - reavengitair - 09-18-2009 It is acts of kindness like this that really brighten up discovery. For one, I was given 250 000 credits on my first day on disco, only to lose it to an in-game scammer... But nonetheless, these acts of kindness must continue to make discovery a super-awesome place! Thank you - chovynz - 09-18-2009 ' Wrote:I prefer to hire them to do evil things.... Shhhh. Disco Trade secret revealer! Thank you - Bazza - 09-18-2009 I was once given 4 million credits on a level 4 starflier by a Junker Salvager (who may have been in the Congress?). The funny thing was I use that ship only for discreet transactions between my accounts and nothing else. It gets used maybe once a month and sits on Rochester collecting dust the rest of the time. I promptly shifted it over to my main character and I haven't seen the guy since.:) Thank you - Tenacity - 09-18-2009 Y'know, everyone here is gettin all teary-eyed about how "nice" these players are by giving noobies some starting cash... I object. Starting cash is fine, when you know someone isnt going to abuse it. The problem is when you give someone money for nothing - that has one of two effects, it either turns the player into a beggar who runs around asking people for money (I see these beggars almost every day now), or it gives them the idea that they can get by on the server without having to put any effort into their characters. I dont mind players who give people money for a job done, or a specific cause. I used to host RP trivia in new york during 4.84, and I'd give cash to anyone who answered correctly. That causes people to think. I dont mind players who ask new guys to play escort or join them on mining/trading runs in exchange for credits either - this encourages player interaction, and a more experienced player can help a newer player learn how to fit in on the server, while simultaneously providing that new player with something he needs. Just dont randomly hand out cash without a word said, make them work for it. The risk of the receiver of that money becoming yet another lolwutter because of your actions are too high. |
