Need wepon Advice - Blaze - 09-21-2009

I bought a legate and want to equip it I want it to be an All roun Config not an anti Bomber or anti cap or anything specific.

What do you say about

4 solaris
10 corsair BS primary turrets
1 mortar 1 hvy mortar.
Or shiuld I get 2 pulse instead of 2 Corsair BS turrets .
By Corsair turrets I mean the long range ones.

Hello anyone here?

puhh there is alot of variants on this, your setup is good but those 4 Solaris must be placed on good spots, for example, two that goes down and two that can fire up, best would be they can turn 360

another one, like you mentioned 2 Pulse or even better would be 4 Pulse, 1 Heavy Mortar and the rest goes with the Solaris Turrets

well how about this one : 1 Mortar (a missed Heavy Mortar drains your power nearly to an end), 6 Cerberus Turrets(to drain the Shield and the hull) and the rest an mix of Corsair Turrets and Solaris (to get those speedy Bombers )

I would do;

1 Heavy Mortor
2 pulse cannons
6 Cerberus
and rest corsair Turrets

and maybe a missle turret for those stupid fighters.

But that would get the job done well for most Cap's, GB, Dessi's, and fighters

an all around killer of many types.

Dont get Solairs you would be wasting money. and heavy mortor does 2x as much as mortor but uses more energy yes but the leget has good energy. If you are good enough you can control it and do very well.

I hate bombers Thats why I want Solarises

*rubs temples*

I am afraid you are flying the wrong ship if you want to kill bombers amigo, the legate is one of the biggest targets in sirius (aside RH BS/Kusari BS and the juggy), solaris are useless, light corsair turrets have to be used in large numbers. By the time you get a good anti bomber loadout, you will have 3 or 4 guns left to make anti-cap, which are not nearly enough.

What im trying to say is, dont use anti bomber guns, stick to anti cap guns and get a couple of fighter/bomber/GB escorts.

Solaris and light turrets work well on light battleships, but not on one thats larger than most stations. Mainly because its so large, you cant dodge, bombers just have to stay at 2k and you wont hit them at all while they rape your sheild/hull.

And i wouldnt go for the 2 pulse - 1 HM - all solris loadout, try hitting a strafing BHG destroyer with a HM at 1k in a legate and you will see why.

solaris make sense - but i don t know the hardpoint locations of the legate too well. - if you go for solaris, you should have 5 - 6.

you will mostly only destroy bombers when they are fairly unaware ( meaning before they focus on avoiding your solaris ) - for that, you need to take them down asap.

personally, i d loose the mortars. - while having heavy mortars is nice, cause they add so much burst damage, they re not exactly efficient. ( good weapons when you re in a team - and the mortars add to the damage "from the second line" )

personally, i d do that:

1 battleship missile for long range "anti-kiting"
1 razor on a 360 degrees slot
5 solaris
1 flak
8 cerberus

a missile is useful for the very long range fights - like vs. an outcast battleship or other rather small battleships ( yes, i know the outcast battleship isn t tiny, but its profile is rather small ) - it is also your weapon of choice to disable the enemies subsystems

a razor is useful for pretty much everything. - quick dps whenever you need coupled with a much greater "to hit" ratio than a mortar.

5 solaris to take down bombers

1 flak, it can assist in anti-bomber duties, but its most useful when used vs. incoming novas or ship to ship capital missiles ( from cruisers for example )

8 cerberus to simply charge and add a stream of damage. cerberus are only really useful at almost point blank range - so you gotto charge close to the enemy. - but 8 cerberus easily outdamage even 12 normal turrets. - and only pure anti-cap ships tend to have 12 or more primary turrets.

Then what about 1 HM 1 missile rest Corsair BS turrets?

Need wepon Advice - Jinx - 09-21-2009

its just an advice .... loose the HM.

a heavy mortar is flashy. - and it makes a really cartoonish, colourful boom. - but aside from that - there are better weapons for a slot.

if you insist on a heavy weapon, i d suggest a razor instead.
