CS - MB52 - 09-28-2009 Ok, question to this "CS" faction who are you? and what are you. You have a prison liner, that is outcast tagged and IDed, you claim to be "cops" or some sort of military, yet you pirate trade ships. Not only that you fly in the lanes and next to lawful bases. An odd pirate... so whats up with your group? CS - Zukeenee - 09-28-2009 Would you be talking about the \CS\? That'd be the Consortium. It's... weird. 'Watsas leads it, I think. He should come and explain. CS - MB52 - 09-28-2009 That would probably be them:P CS - Unseelie - 09-28-2009 They 'claim to be police' the same way they 'claim to own Kusari' its not true. They -believe- it, but its not true. CS - Ironwatsas - 09-28-2009 The Consortium (\CS\) are Basically a Military-Styled insurgency. Think a Kusari equivalent to the Hellfire Legion or Lane Hackers. Essentially, we're allied to other Kusari Unlawfuls, and are attempting to secure Kusari through covert undermining of the government, interdiction and destruction of commerce, assisting other factions like the GC and Blood Dragons. We use the Outcast ID for several reasons, mainly because of our diplomacy, ZoI, used ships, etc. As for using Prison Liners... part of our RP is our cannibalization of enemy ships and crews for our own use, and ships like Liners or Slave ships are high on our list due to crew and mineral content. An intact Prison Liner is quickly going to be pressed into service as an Auxiliary Warship, and probably used for Cargo Interception. We're not 'the police' by any real sense, but we're trying to collapse the government and install a client state, so take a sort of Authoritarian approach when dealing with Civilians, and putting territories under 'Sovereignty Waivers' as we operate, as we have no concern for the standing government outside of it's resistance. More info on the faction can be found here http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Consortium Quote:They 'claim to be police' the same way they 'claim to own Kusari' To that end, we usually don't sugar-coat the fact that we're out to replace the Kusari government (Atleast when we're conducting tactical operations). Though, we're often vague as to why, or go by the cover story of us trying to 'End Kusari's corruption and Xenophobic Conflict' or otherwise use the Tau conflict as a Cassus Belli for our operation. The reality is, that's just a fabrication. But I'll leave the rest of the population to draw their conclusions of find out through Interaction as the Faction Storyline develops. CS - MB52 - 09-28-2009 Outcast ID doesn't fit you... go for generic or GC/Dragon I'd say... CS - Ironwatsas - 09-28-2009 We USED to use the GC ID before 4.85. However, changes made in that ID and that of the Dragons made both of them non-fitting. We're a completely different animal from the Dragons or GC, essentially a totally new faction. The Outcast ID was chosen (over generic IDs and factions like Junkers and Dragons) for a number of reasons. Firstly, we use Borderworlds and Outcast ships and Weapons because of RP with the GC and Outcasts for acquiring them. We have a small number of Destroyers and Liners which are important for RP reasons, but the former are usually kept in reserve for anti-capital ship interception. Finally, there's the issue that we sometimes trade and conduct operations outside of Kusari (e.g. Trade with Bretonia and the Outcasts, and we might possibly have some presence in Rheinland, assuming RP goes that direction. However, the Outcast ID isn't perfect. But as we're unlikely to get our own ID in the near term, it's the best we've got. We simply have to carefully work around some of the discrepancies through RP and make the best of the ID's that are available. So, unless we DO get our own faction ID after we go official (and are better known and more active), the Outcast ID is staying. |
