Skype possibly causing programs to not start? - Kazinsal - 10-08-2009 Hi, I've been using Skype for, eh, half a month now. About since the time I joined Disco. I've noticed that sometimes programs either don't start at all or open but immediately cause a "program has stopped working" screen without any program window popping up. At first I started closing all sorts of programs, but I noticed the only thing I could really open effectively was Command Prompt. I tried closing Skype normally but it gave some error about being unable to complete the operation and stayed alive. I had to close it via taskkill -f -im skype.exe, at which point things went back to normal. Skype has done this to me multiple times since. I need to use Skype as part of this community... Apologies for the wall of text, but I could really use some help. No new updates to Windows are in the Windows Update screen. Thanks, --Troy |
