Virage? Stinger/Wasapu? Do people use these? - TYHPilot - 10-09-2009 So I am trying to figure out a new character and determining which ship he is going to fly. Going through the list of available VHFs I see the Virage and Stinger. Two ships both pretty readily available to people of all factions and backgrounds pretty much. I loaded up Ioncross and test them out in SP a bit. Seems pretty fun ships, maybe in need of a new skin and texture job but other than that nicely done. But then I thought, wait...I have never seen anyone in disco use one of these ships. Seriously I get sort of tired of seeing all the Eagles, Rocs that people use. I really get bored of looking at the Eagle the most. Its so...plain. I guess cause it's civilian it is supposed to be plain, but it doesn't even look dangerous really. More like a drab sand colored trainer than anything else. Is the problem with the Virage and stinger the same problem with the Renzu ships? Not great performing, and not great looking? Why doesn't anyone use these? Virage? Stinger/Wasapu? Do people use these? - Sarawr!? - 10-09-2009 People use Wasapu's, but they're not overly used like the majority of civilian line ships, which is nice, now the Virage on the other hand...I've only ever seen a handful of them. But from what I hear they're both good ships, so regardless of if anyone else flies them or not, if you want one, and it's in character for your character to have one, get one.:) Virage? Virage? Stinger/Wasapu? Do people use these? - Belco - 10-09-2009 From the rear, the Wasupu looks like a transformer flying through space with some wings. virage is a bit less manuverable then other vhfs, i havent looked at the stats though, i may be wrong. they'd need a remodel for me to fly them, i woulnt beable to look at the back of a wasupu for more then a few minutes Virage? Stinger/Wasapu? Do people use these? - Marcus Lindberg - 10-09-2009 The Virage is too light for combat in almost all VHF vs VHF situations, its quite capable of taking out HF's in my experience. The Wasupu is like your average VHF's, its good. Problem is, the skin looks so bad, no offense to whoever made it, I got rid of the ship. Virage? Stinger/Wasapu? I just don't like the look of it at all. The skin is bad, the front looks like it's been pushed in to far. Anyway they both fly ok. Virage? Stinger/Wasapu? Do people use these? - Errant.Venture - 10-09-2009 I used a Virage for a bit...i liked the agility, I used my as a Recon vessel....I had a stinger/wasupu for a bit...but they look like the Kusari Puked on the paint job/....if it was black it would be ok....besides that its pretty agile.... The Plus side to a Virage is its RP potential....I rped the 2 Tube thingies as a expensive, advanced, Comm/Systems jammer.....assuming i am thinking of the right ship... the only other downside to the virage is it was a pain to get.....took me a long time to get there....and my star flea kept dying. |
