I was touched - Bear - 10-12-2009
I had just logged onto my starflier character ready to sit in NY and pass my evening away when I red on my screen the words: RUSSIA-RULZZZZ!!!!!. So being the person that I am I told him to please stay in RP explaining that we don't have Russia in this game (not technically anyway). He then explained that he was Russian. This is the part that I feel feel really bad about. I told him that I didn't care and that he should stay in RP. He then said that his English wasn't very good. I then told him that I didn't believe him because just moments ago he was spamming system with how much Russia rules. This was a rather long sentence and it took him a good five minutes to respond. I didn't take much notice and said after a while that if he stuck to RP he would be fine. Then I receive a message from him that he would like me to wait because he is translating what I said into Russian so that he could understand.
I feel really bad now because I told him that he was lying. I wished him a good day and after a few minutes I received a message saying 'thanks =)'. I feel really bad right now, I shouldn't have rushed into telling him off. I thought it was just one of these "sry i don't spek enlish" people. But he was trying so hard to understand and I commend him on his efforts. It may take him a while to understand but he touched me by that. I now have a greater respect for those sorts of people because they do indeed try to play and understand us. Please learn from my mistake and don't just rush into telling someone off because they are oorp. They may not understand what the rules say.

These "lolwuts" are not humans. They are out to destroy the server and the community and everything else that the official factions built in this world. Everything.
Each one must be destroyed by fire. All their guns stripped. Their non-english tongues silenced. Their IP registered to the forums. We must take their capital ships away from them. Or we will face utter destruction.

No, these people are trying their best. We must make it easier for them to understand what this all means. We can't just say "you don't speak english, get out". That is not what this server COMMUNITY is about. We've gotta stick together if this game is going to survive.

I was being sarcastic against the non-extremists who come here to play in the spirit of the game and have fun by role-playing, as opposed to the extremist role-players which are holier-than-thou and are the last vanguards of Discovery against the "lolwut" invaders.
