Illegal Slaves - hades durin - 10-14-2009 Well everyone knows slave buying and selling and transporting is illegal. Question 1: why is it then possible that slave where sold for 910 at lpi sugarland it is a legal liberty corporation who runes the place? Question 2: why kishiro technologies want slaves to buy it is also an legal corporation and the profit is about 1500 per slave? Illegal Slaves - Barrier - 10-14-2009 I believe that inRP, they would want to free the slaves, not buy them. The money is simply a reward for your actions. Illegal Slaves - Aoyagi - 10-14-2009 About Kishiro, they are wierd...and not all that legal I'd say. Illegal Slaves - hades durin - 10-14-2009 well let us say, kishiro wanna free the slaves. but what about lpi sugarland? it's a prison and there you get slaves, we talk about that a part of the govermant makes it legal to deal with slaves in a state where it is illegal. that seems to me a big mistake by the moders or has a real deep understanding that i didn't see.... Illegal Slaves - Quorg - 10-14-2009 Corporations are shady. LPI is no less shady. A couple prisoners go missing and an LPI officer finds his wallet thickened by a couple thousand credits. Such is the prisoner business. Illegal Slaves - nassou - 10-14-2009 I think the deal with LPI Sugarland is that you are saying you are transporting the prisoners, but you are really sending them off to be slaves. So the LPI doesn't really know what's going on. Illegal Slaves - Ash - 10-14-2009 The way i see it, it's a corrupt Prison Marshal that sells off some of the low down grime of the Prison station. Prisoners who don't have a future of freedom. Nobody will miss em;) However this theory only really extends as far as small loads of prisoners. A Hundred maximum. Thousands don't really slip under the books, or the population of the station in general. Illegal Slaves - Friday - 10-14-2009 Ahh but you see the slaves that are brought to Isehara Terraforming Platform are put to use as STLCs (Short Term Labour Contracts). There is a massive demand for labour to mine Uranium on Miura, as well as participate in terraforming the planet, as well as fill all manner of job vacancies. Isheara is a joint facility between Kishiro and the GMG - neither really cares where they source their labour from. You will also find that Fujisawa has a sell point for Refugees. Isehara functions as a sell point for slaves liberated by intercepting smugglers enroute to Outcast space. In RP it takes a few months to get a slave ready for repatriation - during that time they, like everyone else, works for their upkeep. It also allows prisoners from Liberty to be brought up to work off their term in hard labour with us. It reduces Liberties overcrowded prisons. Conditions for these people in Okinawa vary. some might be fairly comfortable if they have other skills to offer besides labour, are well behaved, or buy their way into comfort. Others might end up under the thumb of a less scrupulous camp commander, or placed into a higher-level security camp if they make trouble or are deemed to be a security risk. |
