Off to the Tea House? - Bobthemanofsteel - 10-25-2009

So I noticed as I flew through New Tokyo... That there is a distinct lack of any ships in the parts of Kusari space I've been to.

You know 'cept for some battleships, but uhh... they like to sit in the same place for months on end, don't they?

My first thought was perhaps they're all of killing Bretonions or something, but even the traders?

I have to say, It made what should probably be a bustling neighbourhood (New Tokyo) very eery.

Anyone else noticed this? Has it been explained? Or am I bugged? XD

Kusari just isn't popular enough for some reason. There aren't many players in the house to start with.

But no NPCs? First thing you see when you undock from Erie is about a billion NPC Navy Figters and a million cruisers.

There aren't NPC's hardly anywhere if you get above 120 people on the server. That explains the distinct lack of the aforementioned.

Ah! I didn't know that. ALthough I guess it makes sense.

Yeah I think there was about 150 players on at the time.

Still though, assuming they're removed to cut down lag, etc. Are they really that bad? As in would having some in each system still make the server laggy.

I understand the concepts about position updating and such... but, i dunno.

It just makes me not wanna leave Liberty unless someone's with me XD

Please don't whore on Liberty like every other lolwut. There are plenty of places to go, Bretonia and Rheinland has a respectable population.

Discovery.

I resent the implication that I am a 'lolwut'!

But I joined DSE, so I'll be all over the place. Always returning to Liberty, 'course, but meh.

But honestly, Liberty is probably the place that feels more familiar to most players. When you start off it's not like you leave Penny in you starflier and fly off to New Tokyo or something, is it?

Perhaps being able to select where you start would be good, although I assume if that could be done, it would of already been implemented.

EDIT: In other news, apparently this topic has zero veiws! Good work on not reading when you replied XD

We definitely need to tweak the starting location. You don't wanna start in any house at all. I know a neutral one-track starting system idea had been proposed but it was denied because of lack of RP reasons.

But the reasons why most people are in Liberty is the fact that we all start in it.

Agreed. That, and the fact that if you're not living in Europe, or Japan, Liberty is probably what's most familiar.

Plus, America gets so much attention in the real world, it hard NOT to know how they operate.

But more on track, I roleplay Liberty less because it's where I began (though I'll admit I'm a new player and it feels safer), but because it's what I feel most comfortable doing. I know I can't make any mistakes Roleplaying a culture I am a part of.

With the exception of lolwtters, I think it'd be safe to say a majority of people would have similar thoughts.

I think Youmacon is coming up pretty soon.
