FL On Dial up - Gamazson - 05-20-2007
I have a friend who is intrested in freelancer and joing me in fighting for irish pride as a Molly but he lives in the canadian boons so he can only get dial up with out paying thousands for a satilite hook up. Do any you have experience with how well FL and discovery function over a dial up connection? Is it worth trying at all?

Well... My friend had dial-up a while ago... He could go almost anywhere and actually could fight.... Except in Kusari.
But that's before all the new players and such.

yes it works and i have a connection that ranges between 19kbs to 40kbs it lags if it's 28kbs but any other and it's fine

Playing on a Dialup connection is possible, just make sure you re dial it before going in the game, as it tends to go slower with time.

Back on Topic: Well when it comes to dialup, you should just stick to trading and whatnot or fight people with great internet connections because that is the only way you're gonna be able to do anything. And there are many ways of RPing without fighting and so on...

I knew a guy once, who could play most games he had on a dial-up connection. It does work but rememebr, you are bound to get SOME extra lag from having it.

I have heard that satellite connections have a natural lag built in so game playing is not their forte'. Can any one here confirm or deny this ? Any one here with a satellite connection ?
