In regards to piracy - Trogdor - 10-30-2009 Quote:6.6 Aggressors are not allowed to destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand and allowing sufficient time to respond. Demands may be cargo, credits or an RP demand, such as leaving the system. "Halt" is not a demand. There is nothing in this rule, or any other rule that I know of, that says the pirate can't destroy the trader after he's been paid or the demands have been met. In regards to piracy - Slainte - 10-30-2009 Your right, there's not. But if you do it would be the lowest form of piracy known. And what would your fellow pirates think of you when you blow their funds out of the sky? Think about it. In regards to piracy - Trogdor - 10-30-2009 There's also nothing against repeatedly pirating the same target. "Okay, now give me another five million, and drop your cargo." In your example, they may not mind if you're hurting a house's ability to make war by attacking their financial base. Less transports means less armed forces. In regards to piracy - Birdtalon - 10-30-2009 If the trader returns down the same lane where they just got pirated then they are either completely stupid, or a lolwut. Im sure there is a rule against OORP demands (example:100 million) and killing traders after they pay. In regards to piracy - Slainte - 10-30-2009 Less transports = less to pirate = less creds for other pirates to make = very annoyed pirates at this course of action. And, believe me, if you demand 5 mill and my cargo from my trader, he will put up a fight rather than let you walk away with that. ( and its only got 1 gun:)) In regards to piracy - BaconSoda - 10-31-2009 ' Wrote:1. General Terms & Conditions There it is! And there are even two of them! In regards to piracy - OutlawBullet - 10-31-2009 To be honest, halt should be considered a command. Think about it. Who yells at a trader to give them money? Traders, as much as they love RP, I've only run into a couple that RPed with me. Others just try to get away. It makes both our times un-enjoyable. And actually on those two things.... a) I sell the trader that I won't pirate him again for the day. b) I don't like killen' 'em. and I make about 10mil each time I pirate, which is about 10 ships. So I do pretty good ^^ In regards to piracy - Cannon - 10-31-2009 It is not against the rules but it is very not nice. It also happens from time to time. You will *probably* not be sanctioned for doing it although 1.2 can be used in this situation. For example, if a pirate demands 100mil credits and the trader refuses (because they don't have the cash) and is destroyed, the pirate will almost certainly be sanctioned. Our general policy is to take at least 2 times the amount demanded. A fair rule of thumb for pirates is a demand for about 1/3 of the cargo's value. Now if the trader doesn't accept that, well ... pew pew. Also note that some factions are after the disruption of trade (xenos for example) and they'll tend to destroy the cargo + ship completely. This is a different situation. We want people to make sure both parties have fun. It is an impossible goal but we should try. In regards to piracy - schlurbi - 10-31-2009 What about Government Laws? They take your Cargo AND make you pay a fine. In regards to piracy - Bazza - 10-31-2009 ' Wrote:A fair rule of thumb for pirates is a demand for about 1/3 of the cargo's value. I give it about -37 seconds before someone quotes this as being a rule. I can see it now. Quote:// But admins said you cant take mroe than 1/3 cagroes from me Basically parroting what's already been said. But killing someone after they pay a demand, while not against any rules, isn't very nice. |
