Hi all, just yesterday I reinstalled Freelancer. And since I'm using the evaluation copy of Windows 7 (build 7100), I decided to give Discovery another shot. Now with using 7 I can connect to the Discovery servers.
Anywho, I set up a new character and started in the Pennsylvania System. I traded my Starflier for a Defender. I lost my tractor beam system with my Starflier. The Dealer wouldn't let me keep it. So I stopped at just about every port of call trying to find a new one and none of them had one. Well for the most part it doesn't really matter because I forgot to save my game before I shut it down to come to the forums. But before I go buying a new ship, how do i keep the tractor beam unit?

Tractor beams are included in the IDs, get an ID and you will get a tractor beam.

Small instructions on how to keep it.
1. Select a ship to buy
2. press whatever it is to buy it
3. in the trade-in window, you will see your id on the left
4. Press the tab where the ID was
5. Clic on your id to keep it.

The ID get moved when you go to buy a ship, but you need to move it back before hitting the buy ship button.
