Starting a new faction/clan? - Archon - 11-06-2005
Hi, I am new to this server, so I don't exactly know what is going in in the state of the Sirius Systems. I have been playing FL for about a year and some of my friends and I wanted to start a clan on a server, but I couldn't find any well populated server that had any sort of clan benefits. I guess I don't really mean clan, you guys seem to refer to them as "Factions".
Anyway, what requirements do my guys need to meet to be considered a Faction/clan?
Also, what benefits are there? ie, How much 'politcal control' would we have? I read the thing about being able to tax players, and own systems, but for example, if "Bob's SpaceCadets" members started preying on my freighter pilots, could I declare war on them and shoot them on sight? Or could I just say "We will fight the war for the Highest Bidder"? And are there any 'starting bonuses'? It would take a while for my guys to get over to your server and get enough creds. to buy decent ships, ike a cap. ship of some sort and some fighters.
Please let me know about these things, I love Discovery Mod, its the best one out there I think, and I am sure my friends would like it too. I mean where else can you take a Liberty Dreadnaught out on the hardest missions and take out whole wings of fighters or a station in a couple of volleys!

Heck every faction here has declared war on faction FF [Freedom Fighters] at least once (before it was disbanded).

If you go on a server, and are planning to be a Freelance Faction/Clan, and not be affiliated with any house then you can Claim a system and Make it your home, all the IW systems are frre along with Omegas and Taus and Sigs, And Money wise Igiss, the admin might help you guys get started, but Most people here, me included had to Trade to start up our Factions.

Angel, I was thinking about being kind of a paramilitary organization loosely associated with Rhineland. Sort of like the Galactic "Rainbow 6". You know its basically associated with the US, but they use any equipment they want and just kill any terrosists that any UN goverment wants.

Ahh, Well to get aholed of Igiss just PM him, whereever u see his name just click on it and select Private message, and if your Doing somethin like rainbow six, or delta force, then you might get funding from some of the house's, and your gonna want to Hunt phantom.
Your going to want to go to the Faction Post, at the top of the Discovery Freelancer Forum, and fill in the data for ur Clan, like people Goals Systems ur in stuff like that.

Well since you guys have decided to take our Merc-like job AW will now be like pirates :D. Since we are already with Phantom we will help in their goal of hurting people :lol:. All Phantom members allowed in AW space.

If you will see my other post, I cannot even get on the server yet. And don't just give up on being mercs, after all, whats a little friendly competion? I still would have to recuit another person for my clan. The min is 3, and only one of my friends still does FL mutiplayer. Read my post and help me get on the server, and I will go and check things out. I may even join another faction or just be a FREELANCER.
