Here's Some Food for Thought - Sprolf - 11-27-2009

Igiss Wrote:0.0 Be excellent to one another. Consider the people around you. Keep fair play in mind. It's a game and nothing is gained, or lost, save the experience. Credits can be re-earned. Ammunition replenished. If you become infuriated step away. If you make a mistake apologize. If you wish to remain in system after you die, or after someone has moved away, simply ask.

Fair play, a level head and consideration for others.
Let's all ponder these happy thoughts.
Also, let's take into consideration the Golden Rule as a supplement.

I seldom make a thread myself, truth be told, and more seldom is it as brief as this.

Seldom do I have more of a point to make, however.

Sometimes it is hard to decide between fairplay and roleplay.

But all other times, you're absolutely right.

Wrong. Real roleplay would be taxing traders for all their cargo, all their money, and then killing them. it would be the death of this server. you cannot have enjoyable player interactions without fairplay.

Not necessarily. Why kill the chicken when you can just take its eggs every day?

This is not what is being expressed, as of recent.... Not to mention not fair play at all, considering what this topic is based on....

My, what conclusions you gentlemen draw from this.

I wonder why this particular topic on everyone's mind at the moment.
I'm just talking about being nice here.

I would have to say this is not the traditional fair play versus role-play discussion. It is more fundamental and straight forward than that.

"Be excellent to one another;" there are not many better ways to phrase it.

Why be cruel?

Why be malicious?

Why not be kind?

Why not be magnanimous?

It is a pity that some believe those questions need to be answered.

Oh yes. we're all wondering that Sprolf.

I'm sure.

I mean, it's not as if it's blatantly obvious if you have a trader or miner character.

Or know someone with one. XD

He has never mined.

He never will mine.

He never will go to a specific place. (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.)
